I have a 9 inch S.A. redtail catfish that I bought as a 1.5 incher.  Does
anyone know how large this fish will get.  He is currently in a 150H tank.
Also I have a cuban cichlid in another tank.  Any idea how big this fish
gets?

I've just got hold of 150ltr tank that I've set up with Tetras, Panda Cory's
, Tiger Barbs,1 Angel, and a couple of sharks. Live plants (no lighting). I
have a new Eheim Aqua Ball Filter, Heater temp at 27deg cel.

Can anyone help me with lighting ?  I can't get it right. I've been told,
and read that with plants in the aquarium that lighting should be on for
9-11 hours per day.  I either get brown or green algae, which, if I got the
lighting right, would supposedly reduce ?

Just bought a new fluval 404 for 60 quid and wondered whether just to
use the media it came with, which seems to be carbon in the bottom two
trays and some round things in the top two, filter is being used on a
200 litre tank which has a lot of bogwood and plants and fairly well

I was wondering...why is sulfuric acid often used to lower the pH of
aquarium water? I thought that it would be more toxic than using something
like hydrochloric acid. Do the SO4 ions serve a purpose in the tank? Please

I am looking for something that stays small to clean partitioned, aerated,
pretty clean sections of betta tanks and little individual tanks.  The
sections average 2-1/2 gallons each, and then there are several 1-gallon
tanks.

Hi.  We have inherited a 60 gallon tank, with 2 undergravel filters, 1 for each
half of the tank.  I have no idea how to set this up.  For each set, I have the
piece that obiously goes in the bottom, under the gravel, with 4 short pipe
things in the back; a funky aerator-looking ...

I have recently moved to Moncton, NB, Canada and I am now on city water.
We have chlorine, chloramine and heavy metals.
any advice for a country boy who is used to well water (high pH and CO2) and
doesn't want to make newbie mistakes?

I have Two males that go really well together, no flaring, except for when
it comes to food, and they deem to not mind each other there. Can i trust
them? or should I put them back in their original tanks. (They are in a two
gallon with two hiding places, plants.)

I am looking for a few good cichlid screensavers.

We treated our 150 gallon aquarium for ich, and it seems successful.  The fish
didn't have a horrible infestation.
Before the ich, we added some water grasses, and other plants.  The grasses were
grown in rockwool and the suckers keep uprooting them.  Is this rockwool

my wife loves the male guppies but when we bought 4 and brought them
home, one died within one hour and the other 3 died within a week
we went back and got replacements...all died as well
is there something about raising guppies we need to know
