HI Frank, I have what I guess are diatoms growing in my 3 month old 75 gal.

mainly said to buy a catfish to take care of it.I wanted to know what's
causing it and how I can get rid of it . one article I read ...
Buying fish as singles or in groups?09 Jan 2004 13:30 GMT3
Probably only a fish could really answer this, but...  I just have a
20-gallon tank, so I often buy only one individual fish at a time.  I
know that many other people buy two or more fish of the same kind at
once.  While I realize that there are some species that really need to
Newbie Questions09 Jan 2004 05:18 GMT4
I`ve been lurking on the NG for a few weeks now, and thought it is time to
pop my head over the ledge so to speak with a couple of questions;
1. I am cycling my first aquarium atm and I have had both my Ammonia and
Nitrite spike, with both now dropped to Nil mg/l, though what is ...

hey all..simple question for you but I haven't been able to find an answer
yet..I acquired a mated breeding pair of convict cichlids on 29 November. Today
I'm watching the female fanning her third (and appraently largest yet) batch of
eggs. Yeah I knew they were "prolific" breeders ...

gotta question for ya..

base of his top fin and then another one right at the base of his rear fin.
I just noticed the 2nd one today and I noticed the first one yesterday.

i have outside whisper power filters on my tanks and i am wondering if

Any advice on UV sterilzers for freshwater?08 Jan 2004 03:59 GMT4
I have a 40 gallon freshwater tank with live plants and community fish
(Yo-Yo loaches, algae eaters, neons).  I bought a 100-watt compact
florescent light to add some more light-loving plants, but algae is becoming
a problem.  I can control it by keeping the light hours very short, ...
Seachem Flourite Red08 Jan 2004 03:45 GMT4
I have read that the Flourite Red creates problems to the water coloring
of red.
Is true ?  How to make in order to avoid that?
Still is better the Flourite Red or the Flourite "normal" ?
High fin loach08 Jan 2004 03:44 GMT6
Well, I had an interesting gift. I have a 120 gal fw tank. My goal is to put
MANY small schooling fish in there. I've been slowing building up the
population.
A friend stopped by while I was out of town and decided to give me a gift.
PVC & convict question07 Jan 2004 21:01 GMT4
- I got a huge PVC T for my convict pair in my 30 gal. Two side
entrances and one long top one. I was wondering, does it matter that the
PVC is white?  I've only seen black in tanks.
-Also, when should I remove the fry from the parents?  I know I can`t do
Head Shaking Barb07 Jan 2004 20:47 GMT2
I have a rosy barb who is acting peculiar.  He's swimming around, with his
head constantly shaking.  And he doesn't seem to be playing with the other
rosies, or anyone.  He is alert, and his coloration remains bright.  The
water is healthy, with regular changes.  Any ideas what this ...
Tank Cycling07 Jan 2004 10:06 GMT15
Human Urine.
Crank up the temp to about 85 degrees.
A cup or so does the trick.
It takes about 12 hours to get a dense cloudiness.
