hey all.looking for inof on "gourami disease"..info on web seems to be more treatment related than cause specific, and even that is contradictory..is this caused by bacteria or parasites? anyone have information or know of a good informative site? thanks!

I was just curious about kosher salt for the aquarium. I saw some in the kitchen and it didn't have any additives. Could that be used in a pinch? (pun not intentended). Enquiring minds want to know.

Anyone know how to lower Nitrite levels quickly ? I fear that I have introduced too many fish into my cycled tank at one time. The current Nitrite reading is 0.5, but all the fish seem fine - I have 3 Platies, 4 green tiger barbs & a small catfish.

I have a community (5g) tank with guppies, female bettas. I keep my male bettas separate. I've been trying to breed them and I put a male betta in the tank. Now I never thought this would happen, but the females started to bite

have had 5 dwarf frogs in my tank now for aroudn 18 months , they are a source or great amusement . Unfortunatleytoday one became terribly bloated and died. Anybody have any ideas as to why , and can i stop it ahppening to the other

I'm trying to get rid of the black algae which is spreading in my tank. It's probably due to high levels of phosphate and nitrate in the water. Burt I can't cure this with a conventional water change, as my London tap water is also really high in phosphate and nitrate.

I posted recently about starting the fishless cycle in my new 75 gallon tank. Here is what I have done so far: Set up tank with gravel, airstones, and filled it. Added water conditioner to remove chlorine.
