| Snails | 25 Feb 2004 01:06 GMT | 3 |
I bought some plants and it had a couple snails on it, how as you can imagine I have many many small snails. I did pick out some and throw them away. So snails do any harm to a freshwater tank, other than over populate them?

I say an advert for the Bio Orb (http://www.reef-one.com/) at the cinema last night. I've wanted to setup a little acquarium for ages, but have not had the chance until now.

| Betta update | 24 Feb 2004 16:36 GMT | 27 |
It's been a busy day, but thanks to the encouragement and good advice I rec'd from a few nice fishophiles here, our betta are enjoying considerably larger and swankier digs. This will probably make some of you chuckle, but I ended up getting a

| Loopy Angel Fish | 24 Feb 2004 08:59 GMT | 4 |
One of my Angel Fish seems to have gone loopy and attacks anything that gets anywhere near it. The rest of fish now cower at the other end of the tank. Does anyone know why it may be doing this? And can anyone suggest any therapy that may stop it?

| neon problems | 24 Feb 2004 02:50 GMT | 3 |
I have a 55 gal. I set up just after Christmas. It was a little slow cycling, but now the water checks fine, so I have been adding fish with no problems. They are all doing well and some have even had babies. I added 5 neons about three days ago. One by one they mysteriously ...

| eheim media question | 23 Feb 2004 04:00 GMT | 3 |
I just got a 2026 eheim and the instruction book says to rinse all the media in lukewarm running water when servicing. Wouldn't this kill off the biobugs in the substrat media (the top layer)?? and the bottom layer as well ?

| best model eheim for a 55g? | 22 Feb 2004 23:59 GMT | 29 |
As some of you probably know already, I have a 55 gallon tank that I want to get an eheim classic for (I know I said I was going to get a 2217). The tank will house nine tiger barbs, three clown loaches, and maybe a couple larger community fish. Would the 2215 be enough, or

| Attachment of a Biowheel | 22 Feb 2004 22:27 GMT | 2 |
Am I missing something here? How does a biowheel such as the Marineland models (esp Pro 30) fit onto the aquarium. Most of the aquariums I've seen and the one I've just had made are fitted with glass supports running the length of the aquarium to support the cover

| Snails Going Away | 22 Feb 2004 16:46 GMT | 6 |
I am infested with trumpet snails, similar to MTS, but they differ a bit, they are larger and not strictly nocturnal. They are very prolific, and in my hard water the shells are very strong. The Green Terrors ate all the ramshorn snails but can't deal with these. The
