Aggressive Danio10 Feb 2004 22:50 GMT6
Newbie here,
We are having problems with an aggressive Danio.  We are into our 5th week
of owning a fish tank and have just brought 6 Danio's from the LFS after
cycling the tank.  One of the fish, a little larger than the others, is

Finally my first aquarium, 44g pentagon corner tank has cycled after exactly
30 days, phewww!
and was really rather easy.
My stats are;
Furry plants10 Feb 2004 19:02 GMT2
After much effort I have finally got plants to grow in my tank. However they
have started to get 'fur' growing on the leaves. I presume this is some sort
of algae, but not like any I have seen before. I have no algae growing
anywhere else, just this fur growing on the plant leaves.
Oceanic Corner Tank Question10 Feb 2004 17:24 GMT1
Anyone have an Oceanic 54 Bowfront corner or a 92 Bowfront corner Tank?. I
am looking for the depth dimensions from the corner ^ to the deepest part of
the bow ) of both tanks. the web site of this company does not list this
figure.
DIY aquarium project mishap?10 Feb 2004 14:20 GMT8
Hi, I recently built a DIY aquarium background, and in construction of said
background I used 'Duct tape' on some of the background piping and also used
'permanent magic marker' on the styrofoam as sort of a note on what I did.
(Construction workers do this all the time)  Well ...
For the Chemists...09 Feb 2004 23:41 GMT2
Here in NC, I read about a town's water supply that had an elevated
level of Manganese in it. While the officials said there'd be no harm
for humans, I wonder if the usual water treatment that is used for
tropical fish is geared toward this chemical, or if it even matters.
what is an "Oto"09 Feb 2004 23:36 GMT2
I see a long thread regarding Otos, but I never heard of them.  Are they a
fish?  Do they need a heated tank or can they handle colder water?  How big do
they get?  are they aggressive?
thanks,

new red zebra danios: Thoughts?09 Feb 2004 19:28 GMT3
What does everyone think about the new genetically altered danios that have
become available in North America?   I think its funny that the
person/company that developed them (apparently they injected jellyfish genes
into the danio eggs to achieve the bright red coloring in the ...
Help Identifying Eggs09 Feb 2004 15:33 GMT7
I noticed a clump of reddish eggs which had been deposited out in the
open on the aquarium gravel. The eggs were quite large, certainly not
specs about the size of this O. I was expecting my Peppered Cory's to
breed due to their behaviour but from what I've read and seen the eggs

Need Reef Tank Lighting09 Feb 2004 15:29 GMT1
I just recently bought a 125 gallon all-glass tank.  I have been running
freshwater fish for years and once again got my feet wet in saltwater.  I am
planning to run this 125 for a reef tank.  However, need the proper lighting to
make it all work.  I don't want to spend $100's of ...
Fish selection for a 25g tank?09 Feb 2004 09:03 GMT12
I've had my 25g tank set up for a couple of months now, the only inhabitants
being six White Cloud Mountain Minnows. I'm glad to say they're doing fine
(although from what I've read it seems that things would have to be
seriously wrong to kill off these toughies!) and me getting ...
