Strange Sack in Tank30 Apr 2004 21:49 GMT2
I have this wierd looking sack in the back of my tank on a piece of

from Invasion of the Body Snatcher (70's version) -
All I have in the tank are 6 Cory's and 2 Siemese Flying Foxes - any

Marine Aquarium Minimum Size?29 Apr 2004 16:27 GMT8
I just wondered what most people would consider as the minimum size
they would recommend for a Marine aquarium.  What would be the
smallest size you'd advise not to go under?
Also, what dimensions is a five and ten gallon aquarium?  I'm English
Day two angel fish eggs update29 Apr 2004 14:16 GMT2
I woke up this morning suprised to see all the eggs were still there.
Some of the eggs had turned white only 6 or so out of a couple hundred.
When I got home just a while ago I noticed that most of the white eggs
had been removed, and just sitting here a short while I watched ...
Softening water with RO29 Apr 2004 05:06 GMT3
I am currently cycling my second tank, which is a standard 29 gallon.
I bought my first tank, a 5 gallon half-hex a couple of months ago and
quickly outgrew it, falling in love with the hobby.
I live in Indianapolis, where the water is really hard, 300 ppm
Swortail spawn frequency (or: up to my ears in fry!)29 Apr 2004 03:08 GMT4
I've checked around the web, reading websites and newsgroup postings,
and from what I can glean, a single breeding of a female swordtail can
lead to up to eight batches of young ... yet most sites that actually
give a time lapse between batches indicate 28 days as the magic

Help ID disease28 Apr 2004 10:56 GMT8
Two of my 30 Tetra Cardinals have been sick for a couple of months now.
Their stomachs are sunken and they appear to have difficulty swimming in a
normal horizontal position and mostly they move in a 45 degree angle with
their head higher. One of them eats ok and the other seems to ...

Diatom Filter or H.O.T. Magnum28 Apr 2004 03:48 GMT4
I was thinking about getting a Diatom Filter and got a little
sidetracked by the H.O.T. Magnum which I guess comes with a Micron
Cartridge that polishes the water. Considering the H.O.T. is priced
rather low I was wondering what you guys thought of that as an
From pond to aquarium - and back again? (bit of a saga!)27 Apr 2004 22:50 GMT8
Any advice on the following from you experts out there would be greatly
appreciated!
Late last summer we created a garden pond.  Didn't think we wanted any fish
in there, so we didn't dig it very deep (1.5-2 foot max).  Turns out we were

Quick question. I have an unused 29 gallon tank. I just HATE to let such a
prize go to waste. Thought I would use it to breed something. Any
suggestions? I would prefer it be something a bit less common. (Zebra danios
for example are definitely out!) My hope is to keep the best a nd ...
