What is the most quiet filter for a ten gallon tank?18 Apr 2004 12:43 GMT15
I'm trying to find a quiet filter for my 10 gallon quarantine tank. So
far I've tried a sponge filter with a Rena air pump, an Aqua clear mini,
and neither are even close to quiet. They both make far more noise than
my whole 55 gallon setup which includes a schego optimal air ...
Does anyone have a Juwel Filter Box for sale?17 Apr 2004 00:01 GMT8
As per the subject line I was wondering if anyone has a Juwel Filter box for
sale? It's only the box itself I'm after... ..perhaps someone has 'modified'
their tank and removed the supplied box in the process?
For clarity, the box I'm after is as per the following image:
Cotton wool fungus16 Apr 2004 19:10 GMT1
I have two corydoras sterbei - one of which has developed a blotch of
cotton wool fungus on his side. The aquarium has been running for about
18 months, and this is the first time we've seen this.
I popped to LFS and picked up some anti-fungus and fin rot stuff, which
swordtail15 Apr 2004 21:06 GMT4
Just got a male and female pineapple swordtail. They seem to be familiar
with each other since they swim around side by side a lot. The female
stomach seem quite distended, I was thinking she might be pregnant?
Anyway to tell if she is pregnant?
Algae question15 Apr 2004 20:27 GMT9
My tank periodically gets a little algae film on the glass, but now I am
getting some algae that I have never seen before.
It started out as tiny clusters of algae, black, little tufts of it attached
to the glass.  It is extremely hard to scrub off.  Now it is attaching
What is on my Root15 Apr 2004 19:28 GMT6
I am new to keeping tropical fish of my own, so I am in need of a bit of
reassurance I think. I have a smallish tank, 10 gallons, all settled down
very well. ph good, ammonia, nitrate and nitrate all doing as they should
be. In the tank I have a piece of root, came from the supplier ...

salt to fresh15 Apr 2004 02:28 GMT3
This may sound a little off the wall but I was wondering about
acclimating salt water fish to fresh water.  I know that several species
spend their lives swimming from one to another but what about a totally
marine fish becoming used to fresh water like marine catfish. Well
Freshwater crabs14 Apr 2004 04:26 GMT4
I have introduced a male and a female crab into my 10 gallon aquarium
about a week ago and he keeps chasing her.
Is this normal, or should I separate them?
Thanks in advance for your info -
Fishless cycle bioload question14 Apr 2004 03:37 GMT3
I cycled my 10 gallon quarantine tank using 5 drops of ammonia per day,
as reccomended by the fishless cycling revistited website(I should say I
started with 5 drops per day, and dropped it to 3 drops after after
nitrite registered). Ammonia and nitrite have been zero for a few ...

Siamese Fighter13 Apr 2004 23:30 GMT2
I have just purchased a Siamese Fighter, a red one - truly beautiful believe
me. Although when I introduced it into my community aquarium the fish
started to nip at its fins to an extent that it now doesn't move or eat. I
have had a Fighter in the past before I got an aquarium, and ...
clown loach's diet?13 Apr 2004 20:15 GMT4
my two clown loaches refuse to eat anything other than frozen or fresh foods
like red mosquito larvae and brine shrimp. I have tried feeding them tetra
min and tetra prima but they both do not eat it, even after a few days
without mosquito larvae. will it be ok for them to continue ...

live tropical fish. They must be available to the UK. If anyone has any
ideas could you let me know please?

disease or anything, though yesterdays one, I think my have just ...
