| What is the most quiet filter for a ten gallon tank? | 18 Apr 2004 12:43 GMT | 15 |
I'm trying to find a quiet filter for my 10 gallon quarantine tank. So far I've tried a sponge filter with a Rena air pump, an Aqua clear mini, and neither are even close to quiet. They both make far more noise than my whole 55 gallon setup which includes a schego optimal air ...

| Does anyone have a Juwel Filter Box for sale? | 17 Apr 2004 00:01 GMT | 8 |
As per the subject line I was wondering if anyone has a Juwel Filter box for sale? It's only the box itself I'm after... ..perhaps someone has 'modified' their tank and removed the supplied box in the process? For clarity, the box I'm after is as per the following image:

| Cotton wool fungus | 16 Apr 2004 19:10 GMT | 1 |
I have two corydoras sterbei - one of which has developed a blotch of cotton wool fungus on his side. The aquarium has been running for about 18 months, and this is the first time we've seen this. I popped to LFS and picked up some anti-fungus and fin rot stuff, which

| swordtail | 15 Apr 2004 21:06 GMT | 4 |
Just got a male and female pineapple swordtail. They seem to be familiar with each other since they swim around side by side a lot. The female stomach seem quite distended, I was thinking she might be pregnant? Anyway to tell if she is pregnant?

| salt to fresh | 15 Apr 2004 02:28 GMT | 3 |
This may sound a little off the wall but I was wondering about acclimating salt water fish to fresh water. I know that several species spend their lives swimming from one to another but what about a totally marine fish becoming used to fresh water like marine catfish. Well

I cycled my 10 gallon quarantine tank using 5 drops of ammonia per day, as reccomended by the fishless cycling revistited website(I should say I started with 5 drops per day, and dropped it to 3 drops after after nitrite registered). Ammonia and nitrite have been zero for a few ...

| Siamese Fighter | 13 Apr 2004 23:30 GMT | 2 |
I have just purchased a Siamese Fighter, a red one - truly beautiful believe me. Although when I introduced it into my community aquarium the fish started to nip at its fins to an extent that it now doesn't move or eat. I have had a Fighter in the past before I got an aquarium, and ...
