Question for all,
I was dumping out the aquarium water into the bathtub today and it slipped
and cracked one of the narrow sides of the aquarium down by the bottom.  It
is in contact with the silicone sealant.  It cracked in a spider-webb
Sponge filter lift tube question31 Oct 2004 01:03 GMT4
I have a question about sponge filters. Does the lift tube need to be
completely under water or is it alright for the top of the tube to be
above water in air? This may sound like a stupid question but after
googleing I haven't found an answer yet.  I just set up and ...

strange critter in tank!30 Oct 2004 21:07 GMT4
I've got a strange stick-insect like creature inside my aquarium.  It
must have come in with the new plants I got.  Its rather strange,
light-green in colour, has spider like legs at the front where its
head is, and at the end of its body has a tripod style tail. It's only

Does anyone know why this happened?  All my others are black like they
are supposed to be.
Thanks

I was given some time ago a small Tropiquarium tank (20x10x12 wxhxd)

under side of the hood and found the ballast for the light was on the
way out, whilst I was checking the rest of the lighting circuit great

Quick Test30 Oct 2004 10:31 GMT2
Hey all,
I changed about 10 gallons of the 55 gallon tank a few days back.  I decided
to try the trick of adding just plain tap water to the tank.  After a few
days, the fish are all still alive and they didn't seem to mind when I was
Easy plant question.30 Oct 2004 03:59 GMT3
Bought a few plants from a lfs. Each plant is planted in a small plastic
basket with holes, inside that is a piece of sponge I think. I was
suprised when the salesman said don't forget to take the plants out of
the basket before you plant them, otherwise you have a problem with ...

If you have a Bio-Wheel 170 I just have a quick question for you.

controlling CO2 levels29 Oct 2004 21:06 GMT3

attached to an airstone, and small to fine bubbles are coming from it.
A lot of the bubbles rise to the surface but a lot go swirling around
the tank and plants. The ones rising to the surface often stay as
Water Change Question's29 Oct 2004 18:14 GMT19
I have a 165G community tank, and I'm trying to come up with an easier
method of doing water changes. Currently I'm using a 5 gallon water bottle,
that I gravel vac into, then stop the siphon process, dump the water into
the bathtub, then start the siphon again, and repeat this ...
