I was wondering if anyone here could tell me if a dwarf puffer can be kept with tiger barbs? Also, would a puffer or the barbs make dinner out of ghost shrimp? Thanks

Just added moon lighting to my aquarium. If you don't have them check them out. Best $10 I ever spent. The tank looks the nuts!

Hi, my new Siamese fighting fish has been at the surface since I received him yesterday. he did try to go bellow the surface once yesterday, but it seemed a real struggle for him and the only way that he could stay under was by wedging his self in a plant.

| Dumb Idea.. Maybe... | 25 Oct 2004 05:35 GMT | 13 |
Doing some thinking... might be a dumb idea. Has anyone possibly used a siphoner in their tank to get rid of all the crap in the substrate and then put the other end of the hose in your filter? This would effectively remove all the particles (except small ones) and

| Aquarium Update | 25 Oct 2004 03:22 GMT | 3 |
I got up this morning and cleaned the lids again and the sides of the aquarium after letting the vinegar sit at the bottom of the thing all night. Actually, it does look like some of it came up after the vinegar because it wasn't nearly as messy as it was.

| Penguin, Whisper or Dynaflow filter? | 25 Oct 2004 03:22 GMT | 1 |
I have to replace my old Dynaflow filter (For a 20-gallon freshwater tank). The LFS says they could order in another Dynaflow, but I'm also wondering about the Tetra Whisper 20, and the Penguin 125 (It has a biowheel). Any thoughts on which would be best? Also, what is the

| Removing / changing substrate? | 25 Oct 2004 01:21 GMT | 3 |
Anyone have any experience with changing their substrate? I have a fully cycled and fully stocked 1 year old 46g tank, with plants. Originally when I set it up, the substrate was a mix of 1/2 fluorite, 1/2 resin-coated aquarium gravel. It was stupid for me to

| sick cold water fish | 24 Oct 2004 16:35 GMT | 9 |
A couple of weeks ago I added 2 pearl scales to my tank already holding a moor, a celestial and a fan tail. I'd quarantined them first and there was no problem until this weekend when I did a 20% water change and also changed one of the sponges in the filter (leaving the other ...

| white fuzzy stuff in gravel | 24 Oct 2004 12:01 GMT | 6 |
Hello. I have some sick fish in my tank. Before the illness, I was doing my normal weekely water change and noticed TONS of debris in my gravel. 2 water changes later and a lot of gunk vacuumed up, I realize that the gunk is only white, filamenty and/or fluffy. It looks like

| Algae Eaters | 24 Oct 2004 04:08 GMT | 1 |
OK, I understand this question has been asked many times. I was at the local Wal-Mart looking at some algae eaters and some will eat fish flakes while others have to be given algae discs if there isn't algae in the tank.

Hey All: I just got a 10 gallon setup that I will use for a quarantine/hospital tank. I have it setup and am trying out Hagen's Cycle product to see if it shortens the cycle time. I populated the tank with a few goldfish to get the
