I have a question about filter maintenance for the Eheim 2260 canister filter. I haven't done any maintenance (other than water changes) since I setup this tank and realise that this is probably something I should be doing. So here are my questions.

Hi all, im a little confused by these, are they actually of any real benefit at all? Ive seen some on ebay and they claim to remove nitrites and ammonia and can help with oxygenation etc?

One of our goldfish had to be quarantined because of an swollen eye, caused by unknown reasons. Only one eye is inflammed. We tried to treat it for Popeye, using Maracyn, to no effect. Recently we started using Furan-2, and I noticed the swelling went down a little.

Wow, I need to go away more often! I left for a week and had my wife feed the fish. She excitedly called the third day I was away with news she was seeing eggs everywhere in the tank. We have had angels breed before, so I wasn't as excited as her

OK, this is in our third tank and ive only had all three running for about 2 to 3 months. Ive had normal growths of green algae in the other two, but maintenence and snails and shrimps keep it all under control.

Well my male molly is on it's last leg. Of the 6 fish I bought last week for my new tank, the male molly just never seemed happy. I did a water change yesterday (50%), added salt, pH 7.0 Seachem Neutral Regulator which says that it reduces chlorine, chloramine and ammonia.
