2260 Canister Filter - Filter Maintenance Questions??29 Nov 2004 22:01 GMT5
I have a question about filter maintenance for the Eheim 2260 canister
filter. I haven't done any maintenance (other than water changes) since I
setup this tank and realise that this is probably something I should be
doing. So here are my questions.

A Look At My City's Water Quality - X Posted28 Nov 2004 14:54 GMT4
Here's a link to my city's water report. I was hoping that some of the folks
out there that have a better understanding of water chemistry would take a
look and see how it relates to aquaria and water changes in the tank.
Currently I use water from the tap and a Python siphoning ...

Fighting Molly Fry28 Nov 2004 11:16 GMT3
I've never seen this before.  It's been years since I've had Mollies, but
they've always been very docile fish.
I've got 8 fry in a rearing basket.  At mealtime today, these fry were going
at it with one another, almost looked like they would kill each other for

Unknown Parasite, Worm? (Found in Hospital Tank of Fish with Popeye)28 Nov 2004 02:39 GMT1
One of our goldfish had to be quarantined because of an swollen eye,
caused by unknown reasons. Only one eye is inflammed. We tried to
treat it for Popeye, using Maracyn, to no effect. Recently we started
using Furan-2, and I noticed the swelling went down a little.

Wow, I need to go away more often!
I left for a week and had my wife feed the fish.  She excitedly called
the third day I was away with news she was seeing eggs everywhere in the
tank.  We have had angels breed before, so I wasn't as excited as her

Water Chemistry27 Nov 2004 22:20 GMT10
Well my male molly is on it's last leg.  Of the 6 fish I bought last week
for my new tank, the male molly just never seemed happy.
I did a water change yesterday (50%), added salt, pH 7.0 Seachem Neutral
Regulator which says that it reduces chlorine, chloramine and ammonia.
