Yes, another question ...
When starting a planted tank with a few fish. How much aeration do I

CO2 in the tank.

I'm just starting a planted tank and I got some ottos. I recently got a
few japonica (amano) shrimp to eat some of the algae that the ottos
won't. My pH is around 6.8-7 kH around 4-5 and temperature 78-80. I
woke up next morning and they were orange/white.

Source of Ph treatment28 Jan 2006 23:06 GMT1
Hi, I know Sodium Bi-phosphate has been sold as a Ph reducing solution for
the freshwater aquarium, and can be relatively expensive if one regularly
has need to use it.
Recently I noted that TSP (tri-sodium phosphate), sold as a scour agent for
Green Algae28 Jan 2006 20:02 GMT3
I am plagued with Green Algae on the floor of the tank and to a lesser
extent on the glass. Filtration is good and I have cut down on the
light but to no avail. The fish appear quite healthy. Would be very
grateful for any help.

after the first ones, which I thought was strange I ...
Future scenario for the home aquarium.27 Jan 2006 18:05 GMT123
A possible scenario for the evolution of the aquarium:
If we start by examining the constraints, I think the 4 biggest are the
purchase cost (people don't complain so much about the running costs),
the space (large footprint in prime real-estate in the house, and

I already have a male bristle nose plec in my community tank, along with a

those (or how to tell to be honest). All, touch wood, co exist quite
happily, sharing the odd courgette or cucumber with the clown ...
Advice on this stocking scheme?27 Jan 2006 06:55 GMT8
I am a new fishkeeper, and was hoping I could get some advice on this
stocking scheme.  This is my first tank, so I'm a bit cautious about
overfilling it.  This is a 29 gallon, low-light, planted tank with some
java fern, java moss, a red wendtii crypt, and a green crypt.
