even older danio. The light is being replaced today as is the heater. There
To bleach or not to bleach...29 Oct 2006 15:09 GMT4
Just wondering what's the procedure for preparing items such as flower pots

will have to let it wash off + dry well. Also, is it the same for wood? Even
if the wood is bought from the store? What about ...

What fish should I try22 Oct 2006 13:40 GMT8
I am trying to figure out which fish can tolerate a high PH (8.4). Over the
past year I have tried several fish including neon tetras, platys,
Corydoras, Ottocinclus, angel fish, betas and one other kind of tetra that I
can't think of right now. The fish usually live a few weeks ...
Better nitrate test than Aquarium Pharm?21 Oct 2006 15:30 GMT1
We have the ammonia and nitrite test kits from Aquarium
Pharmaceuticals and their accuracy is very good.  But we
can't say the same for their nitrate test kit -- we always get
the same reading, even right after 50% water changes, two

Black moors problem. (??)19 Oct 2006 13:28 GMT3

2 Q's:17 Oct 2006 04:36 GMT1
Ok, had an ammonia problem, soon went away after killing all but one fish
(the most beautiful Angel survived - yay go me) but now have a nitrite
problem ~ ammonia is converted to it. The water tests reveal that the
nitrite level is between about 0.25 and 0.30ppm - a purple ...

a lot of snails and shrimp.
Recently I did an extensive cleaning and it appears that the gravel

Gourami Darting to Surface11 Oct 2006 13:08 GMT1
I have recently moved my fish into a larger tank, it is a fairly new
setup (4 weeks) though the tank was second hand and the biological
filter was mature (though well within the recommended cleaning period,
and a quick inspection seems to suggests its all OK).
