Does anybody know which tank divider would be the best one to buy for a

Guppy's30 Nov 2006 09:23 GMT2
I have started breeding guppy's.    So far I have loads of female baby's.
How do I get male baby's as I can't see any in the tank.
Small Angel30 Nov 2006 09:21 GMT8
A few months ago, I bought a couple of Angel fish. They are really
beautiful fish and I like to watch them. I have a couple of questions:
1: How do you distinguish the sex of Angel fish?
2: What could be the reason that one of them has hardly grown since I
Anyone have Perfecto Sedona fish tank stand??30 Nov 2006 06:35 GMT1
I'm curious if anyone has this stand...and what they think about it?
I think it looks great from the pictures...but I mean how is it really.
They say it's all wood stand...and seems to be good quality, but who
knows.
Bigger Tank = Bigger Issues?28 Nov 2006 22:30 GMT10
I currently keep a 55gal freshwater tank and it seems quite happy. I
still have the 33 long my parents bought my bro and I in 1968 although
it isn't set up. I'm having some moderate work done on my house and have
seriously considered having the wall taken down between our great ...
Morphing a fish(less) aquarium into .... something else?28 Nov 2006 18:32 GMT3
We're looking for creative suggestions for things to do with a 55
gallon aquarium.  When we built the house, we built a special partition
in the wall between two rooms so the aquarium could be seen from two
rooms.    We're no longer maintaining the tank (long story - big house

Back Home and Surprised!26 Nov 2006 22:21 GMT1
Went to mom's house for 5 days (Thanksgiving) and had a college girl
visit the house 3-4 times a day to feed the dogs, cats and fish whiled
we were gone.  We warned her that the tank would probably get nasty
with algae. She was to just feed the fish one proportioned cube /day.
Shameless link plug24 Nov 2006 18:18 GMT17
This group seems to have become very quiet of late. I suppose as forums have
taken off, people don't bother so much with usenet. There is a bit more
security with the forums I suppose, let's just hope this one doesn't suffer
the same trolling fate as rec.aquaria.
What to do with a 26 Bow Front23 Nov 2006 17:06 GMT3
Was given a 26 gallon bow front, which is a 24" wide, 21" high.  What
would be a good choice of fish for an unusual tank like this?
Oscar Question22 Nov 2006 14:41 GMT3
My Oscar looks like it's losing it's scales.  It's got a white spot
just behind his head and his top fins look rough.  He's in there
with only a cat fish and an algie eater.
anyone have any idea's?

I take on board what folks have said re. Usenet Vs web forums, but I
feel we usenutters are a dying breed. I have been using

Thinking about live plants19 Nov 2006 23:06 GMT3
Right now I have plastic plants and they seem to accumulate a lot of
disgusting algae.  The algae eating shrimp eat off the lower branches but
not the upper ones.
Anyway, I am thinking about introducing a live plant into the aquarium.  How
problems with cycling in small tank17 Nov 2006 22:16 GMT3
I'm having a big problem with a new 3-gallon brackish water tank I'm
trying to set up for my red claw crabs and maybe a guppy or two.  I
have stable 10-gallon freshwater which has been great but this new tank
is driving me crazy.  It's a 3-gallon tank with a mix of sand/gravel
Chineese algae eaters.12 Nov 2006 22:22 GMT5
Bought one (about 2") because I have algae in the tank and the platco is
only interested in cleaning a 4" square of glass on the front.
I don't think it will bother the red eyed tretras and silver tipped tetras
in the tank.  But I am worried about what he might do to the 3 shrimp ...
