How soon before English budgie can be sold?29 Feb 2004 21:12 GMT5
We're thinking about getting another English budgie.
Our local bird store says that they have a line on some that are either 3-4
weeks old. We asked what color, and were told it would too soon to tell. We
were also told they would be ready to be sold in another 3 weeks.
exercise wheels and small birds28 Feb 2004 16:31 GMT9
I read someplace on the net that an exercise wheel, properly placed, can be
a great accessory for a budgie.  It seems as though the little guy could get
seriously hurt on one.  Anybody try it?  With what kind of success?  Was it
top-hung, bottom-hung, or what?
Peaches trying to talk?28 Feb 2004 00:01 GMT3
Everything I've read about lovebirds says they aren't avid mimics like
parakeets or other species of parrots.  But the books and articles I've read
say they *will* mimic if given enough attention/repetition.  I read they
have sort of "gutteral" voices so you have to listen carefully ...

Welcome us - Skittles [Jenday Conure]26 Feb 2004 22:42 GMT7
Two weeks ago the wife and I brought home our new baby. Skittles is a
beautiful (approx)2month old baby Conure. We haven't had the DNA test yet
but, we call her she/her. Skittles is soon to be on single feedings a day
and is a peach! She already runs the house and pulls every trick ...
Zebra Finch HELP needed26 Feb 2004 21:16 GMT3
I was cleaning my birds' cage this morning, and one of my Zebra Finches got
out.  She flew around the house, followed by me, my cat and my dog.  I
finally caught her and got her back in the cage, but I think she might have
been injured.
Moving with birds26 Feb 2004 16:18 GMT32
I'll be moving to Florida (from Minnesota) soon and would love to pick your
brains about moving the birds. I've got two smallish cages that I plan to
strap in the car, with Mel & Mollie in one and MacDaddy in the other.  Any
suggestions, ideas, advise on making it a safe trip with ...
Rose Crowned Conure26 Feb 2004 05:11 GMT4
Just wondering if anyone has any information about breeding of Rose Crowned
Conures - Pyrrura rhodocephala - in the US or Canada. Just doing some
research for a First Breeder Award with the AACC here in Canada. Thanks.

I have a nice pair of cocatiels.
Female recently laid three eggs. Male is sitting on them during the
day time.
However female has no interest in getting into nest box during night.
Vintage Glass Birdcage Feeders24 Feb 2004 05:07 GMT2
Hello,  I was hoping that someone would be able to direct me to a place that
sells these older glass birdcage feeders.  They are the ones that attach to
the outside of the cage / attaching between the cage wires.  I believe they
also come in porcelain.  I cannot seem to find them ...
Maaaarrrrccccooooo!!!24 Feb 2004 02:50 GMT48
Called Red Roof Inns, and they said no way Jose on the cat and the dog.  Any
other ideas?  Anyone else ever travel with an ark-full of animals and find a
hotel/motel that allows pets overnight?
