Is it OK to leave our Canary inside the bird cage or do they require flying
time outside the cage?  This is our first bird.
Best regards,

Caiques31 Jul 2004 21:46 GMT7
I bought a pair of black headed caiques today. The guy said his son was
diagnosed with asthma and couldn't keep them. I was expecting to find a pair
of wild caught birds but when we arrived he had both sitting on his arm.
They are the tamest and most playful birds I've had. I don't ...
Raw peanuts question31 Jul 2004 08:25 GMT12
I was cleaning out the fridge and found a bag of raw peanuts I bought about
4 months ago.  I'd intended to use them to make brittle but never got around
to it.  My question (obviously) is, can I feed them to Peaches?  (She's a
Nyasa lovebird under a year old.)  Or should I just put ...
Female Lovebird Just Killed Her Mate: WHY???!!!30 Jul 2004 16:16 GMT2
I have just returned from our local emergency vet where my male
lovebird died as a result of an attack by his female mate.  I am
looking for any explanation of why this could have happened,
essentially out of the blue.
GC Conure - Black tipped feathers?29 Jul 2004 20:36 GMT2
My green cheeked conure recently moulted and for the first time some of the
feathers on her wings and back have black tips instead of the standard all
over green.
She's very happy and not showing any change in personality or mood. I did
mucky little boogars.29 Jul 2004 10:05 GMT5
Doing my morning clean. Just vacuumed the floor of seed husks and switched
off the vacuum. Ruby the red masked conure, looked me straight in the eye,
grabbed a beakful of seeds and poked them through the bars so they fell on
my clean floor.

New Zebra Finch28 Jul 2004 16:19 GMT2
My little finches have finally hatched and raised a baby. It looks like it
is about ready to leave the nest.  Should I try to remove the grillwork on
the bottom of the cage before it comes out?  I'm afraid it will get stuck.
Or should I try to slip a solid surface over the grillwork ...
Pam27 Jul 2004 10:37 GMT17
How jealous will you be Pam???? My son picked up a pair of blue and golds
and a pair of greenwinged macaws last night. My sister is keeping the
greenwings and the blue and golds are going to a friends in Wales. Hope you
and your flock are well.
CHERRY-HEADED/RED-MASKED CONURES27 Jul 2004 01:11 GMT1
I have a two-year old hand fed cherry-headed called Grumpy (the name given
with a good reason!). These are very intriguing birds and I would like to
share thoughts and experiences with other owners.
Cheers!
Blue-crowned conure26 Jul 2004 07:01 GMT55
Hi there,
I live in Michigan...  I met with a breeder last week and decided on a
blue-crowned conure for a new addition to my little flock.  I'm really
excited.  However, the price these guys quoted me seems really high
Looking for a budgie breeder in Portland Oregon25 Jul 2004 03:29 GMT1
So after wanting a bird for many years I have finally decided to
get one.  I had a budgie when I was younger and still have fond
memories.  I have already spent several weeks researching this and
don't plan on actually buying one until late August.  Part of my prep
Crazy Birds24 Jul 2004 14:03 GMT14
This summer I planted some peppers in the garden. Today I picked some ripe
ones. I gave both Molly YNA and BooBoo each a half habanero(scotch bonnet)
they both went ape over it. These are 200 times hotter than jalepenos.
