My budgie can talk, but...30 Sep 2004 19:56 GMT5
...everything he says seems to be 'tweeted' rather than actually
spoken. He can say his name (interestingly, he can say 'Joe', but he
has also started saying 'Joewee' - which I have never called him) and
a few basic things like 'hello', 'pretty boy'', 'letttuce' and

Parakeet dust?30 Sep 2004 03:26 GMT6
I'm considering purchasing a parakeet in a couple months or so.  I did
bird research a while ago on larger birds and I remember hearing that
cockateils and cockatoos have a sort of dust that can aggrivate
asthma.  I was just wondering if parakeets had anything similar that
yet another teflon question29 Sep 2004 23:43 GMT5
I know, this has been done to death. I have googled the archives and
read many threads on this issue. I have no teflon pans in my kitchen
(I have a YNA and have had her from a wee chick 11 years ago) and
haven't for about, er, 11 years.
question about adding new budgie29 Sep 2004 20:45 GMT17
I just bought another parakeet today.  My other parakeet I have had for
almost a year.  I put my new parakeet in his own cage that is sitting next
to the other one. My question is how long should I keep them seperated
before slowly introducing them together.

keeping large aviary in cold climes28 Sep 2004 12:05 GMT3

We must put into action their winter setup as here in nothern greece
it can get as cold as -15 !!  we would welcome advice on how to go
about this.  perhaps there are others who cope in cold climes?
Horny male budgie...27 Sep 2004 21:49 GMT4
This is kind of an embarassing question (and I swear that this is not
a troll). I have a 5-year-old male violet budgie (Dave) who has
recently begun to get incredibly sexually frustrated.
Basically, he keeps trying to f.ck everything in his cage - his toys,
Squawking Pionus27 Sep 2004 02:34 GMT12
Last week I got a five-month-old blue headed Pionus.   After the first
two days,  he began squawking and does so virtually non-stop if I'm in
the room with his cage.  He does this whether he's in the cage or out.
I've taken him outside on my lanai, and it's the same there.  Any

Once you try it you will see why we win awards after awards.
It is full of everything needed to help the gouldian.
It has herbs and vegetables to stimulate appetite, it has iodine
New Love Bird Questions25 Sep 2004 18:01 GMT36
I just got a Peach Faced Love Bird yesterday, the owner was an elderly woman
and, actually - she passed away (at age 90) it was her granddaughter that
placed the bird with me, she was terrified of the bird! So - the bird is
supposedly about 8 months old and grandma was to ...
Leg Band24 Sep 2004 19:07 GMT8
What's with the leg band? I read the breeder puts them on when the bird is
very young. Is there any info that I can learn from inspecting it? Can 't
see how I'd even do that though!! (I'm talking about Bubba the Love Bird -
of course!)
Biting Budgie24 Sep 2004 17:34 GMT10

calmed down a bit i put my hand in & nothing for a few mins, yes i moved

I'm baaacckk!22 Sep 2004 19:39 GMT2
Hey All,
I'm back on line and have 4 months worth of posts to catch up on.  So far
looks like nothing's changed (is that a good thing or a bad thing?)
My birds are doing great, in spite of being banished to my bedroom at the
