My new budgie likes to sleep on his back...01 May 2005 00:29 GMT7
How's this for odd behaviour? At night, my new budgie (he's only a
baby) likes to sleep on the bottom of his cage, on his back with his
feet in the air (I thought he was dead the first time I saw him like
that).
wooden cage advice30 Apr 2005 23:29 GMT9
I am a newbie here, and know very little about birds.  I have a question
about wooden cages.  My uncle built a great wooden cage as a gift to my
grandmother.  I recall her telling me that only one bird was suitable
for a wooden cage, that is it would not try to chew its way out.
How to get my Cockatiel to wistle, talk etc?30 Apr 2005 09:03 GMT7
I have a Cockatiel who is about 16 months old. The bird Jungle
tells me that the Bubba is most likely female. The bird has been
whistling for about 6 or 7 months. She whistles the tune... what a
construction worker would whistle when a sexy girl would walk by. She
canary won't take a bath29 Apr 2005 16:31 GMT9
I am writing on behalf of my mother who owns a male canary.  The little
fellow won't take a bath.  She has put containers in the bottom of the
cage as well as the type that hang at the door.  Won't touch them.  How
important is it that a bird bathe?  My mother has been spritzing him ...
Anyone have pet crows?29 Apr 2005 14:23 GMT5
Would love to hear from others who keep a crow for a pet.  I have learned of
one needing a home.  She is currently w/a rehabber, but she will not be able
to be relased (due to eye injury leading to blindness and possibly having
already been a pet as she is VERY people friendly).  ...

It's all about positive reinforcement, teaching step-ups, flight
training, improving the bird human relationship, and so much more.  No
force, punishment, or dominance. (About time!)

Sole companion bird  (female) laid egg28 Apr 2005 00:21 GMT15
I own a single companion bird, of the parrotlet variety. I have owned
the bird since last November as it was an early Christmas present. The
bird was in a mixed pen that contained only one other parrotlet of
unknown sex. It is now April as I write this.

aviary questions27 Apr 2005 04:19 GMT3
Well I am starting to build an aviary 10'x12'by 10' high for the twenty
parakeets that have bred from the initial four that my son got as a
birthday present a year ago..  and have a few questions...  First can I
just stop their incessant breeding by removing places that they can
