How do I help elderly indigent clients who need assistance with avian care?30 Apr 2006 22:26 GMT4
My wife works for Catholic Charities, as an elder care case manager. In
a great number of the homes she visits, she finds elderly people with
avian pets of all kinds, who are unable to take care of the birds as
well as they need to be. Often, the birds are the client's only
Sun Conure Parrot30 Apr 2006 00:50 GMT2
Hey there bird lovers. Check out my Sun Conure parrot. His name is
Kesha. I've had him for about a year now.
If you're thinking about getting a Sun Conure let me know, I know a lot
about them. But don't email me. Use this group to post your questions.
Looking for help in Utah...26 Apr 2006 12:08 GMT5
I'm sure this is a topic that's been covered many times but I've
not been able to locate any info with a search so I'll apologize in
advance to anyone that takes offense with my question...
I've recently remarried and my wife has two parrots that belonged to
Avian Adventures vs. California Cages25 Apr 2006 07:38 GMT1
I'm looking for a small, good quality cage for a green-cheek conure
adoptee.  I have a King's cage for my amazon that's held up great, but
the smallest King's cage doesn't have outside feeder access.  For a 70g
bird the conure has her moods, so I would prefer not being bitten
Damn bird has destroyed my cigarettes again...18 Apr 2006 01:55 GMT12
Woke up this morning to find Sid had managed to open his cage and
completely shred my smokes. There's tobacco and cardboard all over the
damn floor and I found him sat in the middle of the mess with the most
innocent of looks in his eyes.
All you macaw owners out there!15 Apr 2006 22:39 GMT26
I've been thinking getting a baby greenwing for a few years now and
I've moved into my own house and now I am in a position to do it.
I can afford a powder coated macaw cage (301/2" d X 401/2" w X 65.5 to
76" high, see it at
What sounds do your birds like?13 Apr 2006 06:29 GMT9
My lovebird, Peaches, naturally reacts to the sounds of other birds, be it
on television or the ones out in the yard.  But one thing that really sets
her off on a chirping binge is the sound of running water.  If I run water
in the kitchen to wash something, she starts chirping.  ...

Are these eggs from a parakeet or from a cockatiel?
We have both in a large cage, and one of them has been laying eggs.
Thank you.
Sun Conure siezure09 Apr 2006 14:00 GMT9
I took my 15 year old Sun Conure to the groomer yesterday, late afternoon.
When we were waiting our turn, his right eye lid started to flutter, his
right wing and right foot hung limply.  He sat motionless on my hand.
The groomer said he was having a seizure.  They said it happens ...
rapid wing flicking in conure?06 Apr 2006 17:47 GMT1
My female black-capped conure has started flicking her wings rapidly,
almost spasmodically, and she now does it almost every time me or my
husband go over to her.  She seems perfectly able to control it when
we're not paying attention to her or when she's calm.  Has anyone seen
