| Painting with Birds in proximity? | 31 Oct 2006 16:30 GMT | 8 |
I'm an artist and have recently started doing oil paintings. I have a flock of parakeets (well, 8 of them) in my art room where I usually draw. I prefer to paint in that room too but am somewhat concerned about toxic fumes from the oil paint I'm using. I could paint elsewhere ...

| Avian blindness M CAG 20 years | 31 Oct 2006 00:13 GMT | 5 |
Subject is a 20 yo male CAG, I have not personally examined the bird. The owner surrendered the bird to a shelter stating the bird was losing sight. The shelter keeper states the bird is totally blind. No other health issues noted. The CAG is described as friendly, but you ...

| Is there a definitive book? | 30 Oct 2006 08:06 GMT | 24 |
I realize there is a lot of misinformation out there the more I search online for different things. My vet told me lava rocks to keep nails trimmed, then there are others who say it's not okay, etc. The bird magazines are enough to drive you out of your mind with all

| Afraid African Grey | 29 Oct 2006 22:50 GMT | 20 |
I have 1.5 yr old Timneh African Grey who is sweet and not at all skiddish. The vacuum or any loud noise doesn't bother her. I have rearranged the perches and toys in her cage with no problem. I just bought a Thermo-Perch and she is scared to death of it. The only other

| fantastic feeders to solve problems | 29 Oct 2006 14:33 GMT | 1 |
Feeding wild birds is something I have been doing for many years now, over time I think I have spent more on feeders then the food that goes in them. Squirrels seem to be the biggest problem I have even tried feed areas specialised for the squirrels and a range of squirrel proof

| Jardines Parrot | 25 Oct 2006 04:22 GMT | 2 |
So for about a year I've been looking into what parrot species I would like to be owned by next. My story is, several years ago I was the slave of a very demanding Quaker parrot, when I met him it was a 'up you'll do now lets go home

| What about letting his wings grow out? | 23 Oct 2006 02:08 GMT | 51 |
We've been talking here, about our new 4 mo old lovebird. They clipped his wings before we got him, but he's very tame and now that I got the bird playpen for him, he even sits there for awhile out in the open and doesn't get in any trouble, even though I watch him while he's out ...

| Budgie biting | 22 Oct 2006 16:28 GMT | 3 |
I have had my budgie a month now and he is really tame and sociable. Loves to be out of his cage and on our shoulder but he has started the bad thing of biting. Not agressive like but it hurts anyway. I know how to discipline a dog but I don't know what to do with a bird. Any

| Anyone else think that this is sick and immoral? | 20 Oct 2006 03:09 GMT | 9 |
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3TiMUzexzs&NR The parakeet's owner is allowing the bird to use his hand to masturbate with. How is that any different from someone noticing that their dog has an erection and deciding to masturbate it to climax? A

| Budgie acting strange | 19 Oct 2006 15:54 GMT | 8 |
Tonight I had my budgie on my finger close to my face. I was trying to teach him a new phrase and 3 times he sprayed my cheek. Is this a sneeze or a bird thing to do? I've had him a month and this is the first time he has done this. He is active and doesn't look sick.

| Winter Sampler and using Watercolors by Caron | 18 Oct 2006 00:51 GMT | 1 |
I am wondering what would be the best way to do the border with the "Emerald" Watercolors so I get the most variegated effect. Do I stitch all the way up one side and down the other? Will that effect how it looks at the crossing junctures? Here is a photo of the
