Budgie questions29 Nov 2006 03:10 GMT2
I'm thinking of adopting an english budgie.
Are there any sex-specific things I can find out?
Like with lovebirds, I understand the males are less likely to be biters.
Does either sex in budgies tend to talk more?
How do I get the band off?28 Nov 2006 04:10 GMT29
My lovebird is being driven crazy by the band that someone put on his leg
when he was a chick. He bites it all the time and it drives him nuts. How
can it be taken off so he can be free of it?
Hahns Macaw, Prospective buyer, questions.28 Nov 2006 00:52 GMT1
I am considering buying a 4 month old hand fed baby Hahns.  The bird is
unsexed and very very tame, I can all ready hold him on his back and
rub his head and belly without holding his feet.  Although it has been
a long time, I have considerable experience handling and trainning
Laminating machine?26 Nov 2006 23:38 GMT5
Is a laminating machine safe to use around a pet lovebird?
I'm thinking of putting a new one on the shelf below where I have the
playpen. I'm not sure if the fumes could hurt the bird though, or whether
I should only use it when the bird is in the other rooms, or whether it

Someone who phones me on occasion who lives down near Phoenix recently won an Amazon parrot in a
raffle. His apartment complex only allows two birds to be kept. Now that he's won the Amazon he's
considering sending it to a person who we both know - on a breeding loan. But the ...

Scraping?23 Nov 2006 09:47 GMT5
My lovebird has started making weird scraping sounds with his upper and
lower beak, as he sits on my shoulder today. Does anyone know what that
is? It has me a little concerned.
I also caught him eating a poop off the towel. Eeew!
Am I being paranoid?22 Nov 2006 04:53 GMT1
Hi everyone. I'm new to the bird owners world, and bought a baby male
parakeet on Sunday. I haven't brought him to a vet yet, as it's very very
cold outside and I would have to take public transportation, so i'm
avoiding it unless it's absolutly neccesary. He seems fine, except ...
Right about dangers21 Nov 2006 22:19 GMT8
Whoever said that it wasn't a good idea to go outside with the lovebird on
my shoulder was right. I just took this photo today of a hawk picking
apart a freshly killed sparrow on our fence! ( see that group for the
actual photo, posted appropriately )
Bugs for my lovebird?19 Nov 2006 21:08 GMT49
If I want to give my lovebird a live treat of some bugs, which ones can I
feed him? Do they sell live bugs for birds anywhere?

More Neighbors' Ducks Questions14 Nov 2006 05:21 GMT6
I've been feeding my neighbor's ducks "salad stuff" (different lettuces,
cabbage, carrots, etc, all shredded) as well as some grapes. Today I started
giving them some poultry scratch that I got at wal-mart. It doesn't have any
medicines in it. But it also doesn't have any protein. ...
