| Molting | 27 Jun 2007 01:47 GMT | 4 |
Billy (Severe Macaw) finally molted the first flight feather on each wing. That's one year and seven months since his last wing trim which means it was even older than that. I think it's interesting that the same feather on both wings molt at the

| suitable bird cage? | 22 Jun 2007 12:16 GMT | 1 |
Hi all. I'm considering getting a canary someday and I've been looking at cages. I spotted one on craigslist.com and wondered what your opinions are of it (see link below). It's 2 feet wide so a canary would have enough room to fly back and forth, right? I think I

| Senegal vs. Red Belly | 22 Jun 2007 08:57 GMT | 13 |
I'm on the verge of purchasing one of these Poicephs. Both birds have been handfed and are being sold at the same price ($800). The Senegal was born in February, seems a bit shy but takes fruit from my hand, does not bite, seems to be mild-mannered. The Red Belly is still ...

| Curing my cockatiel of biting the kids | 12 Jun 2007 03:39 GMT | 8 |
I'm looking for a bit of advice on how to get my cockatiel to stop biting the kids. He's the first bird our family has had, so we're still learning, but we did as much research on caring for him as we could before we bought him, and i think we were reasonably well prepared.

| Flying with birds | 11 Jun 2007 19:46 GMT | 2 |

| Ping Louis re Filter | 09 Jun 2007 04:25 GMT | 3 |
I'm still looking at the Friedrich you recommended and am giving serious thought to returning the Austin and getting that one. Just seems to be much more economical, not having to replace a very expensive filter every two or less years.

It's been a long time since I posted in here but in reading all the great tips and advice I need to ask your opinion. I just purchased an outdoor aviary for my 4 birds, 1 Cockatoo, 1 Conure, and 2 African Grays. I've seen so many people who have all their different species

| Hepa Filter Question | 04 Jun 2007 15:05 GMT | 7 |
Well, the group has been less than active lately, but I figured I'd send a real 'on-topic' post (what a novelty these days!) anyway in the hopes that someone can address my question from their own experience. I just got an Austin Healthmate 400 HEPA filter (not the junior model) ...
