| Alex and Writing in here | 31 Oct 2007 17:52 GMT | 18 |
Its so rare that I comment in here and every time I do, I get your sh.t, people. Not enough of a bird enthusiast or too much of one. Colnel Sanders Chickens is another subject. When are you people going to stop being such a.sholes and just let normal people make their

| "My Birds and I" | 31 Oct 2007 00:09 GMT | 2 |
One must appreciate the Internet: when I first purchased my two parakeets, I said to myself, "self, you have two parakeets." But once I first read two books about them and then joined this group, I began to marvel at the developing relationship I was enjoying with respect

I hate that woman. How can anyone abuse such a lovely bird, a lovely creature so horribly. His feathers are all plucked and all he wants in that video is to rest. I wish so much I could have or someone could have saved him. The poor thing just needed a break from such an

| Cage question | 26 Oct 2007 17:37 GMT | 1 |
I'm wondering if there is a practical way to add a seed-catcher device to a cage that I have. It's a 24" x 24" x 50" high cage that was made by CageCo of Los Angeles about 20 years ago. (I don't think the company is in business anymore.) Anyhow, the actual cage height is 32" ...

| finches need home | 24 Oct 2007 16:11 GMT | 2 |
I have never had to "rehome" a pet bird, thank goodness, although I have adopted a few birds from people who could no longer keep them. A friend has lost her job, must move out ot town to live with her son, and cannot keep her zebra finches. She's asking around to try to give

| Is it me, or is it my Parakeets? | 23 Oct 2007 03:33 GMT | 4 |
I'm the novice, but proud owner of two male parakeets; I've written to this group not that long ago. Having the birds now for about two to three months, I am beginning to wonder about their "social skills." I've read two books about these birds, and embedded within the text of

| Looking for a Foster Home or New Family? | 19 Oct 2007 20:07 GMT | 1 |
After nearly three years of caring for two cockatiels, I have learned that I may be allergic to them. Although my allergist suggests permanently removing the birds from my home, I would rather test his theory by finding a temporary home for them for three to five months

| new canary slave | 18 Oct 2007 08:26 GMT | 3 |
I just purchased a wonderful male canary on Friday. He's been singing away so I hope that means he's happy. I've had parakeets in the past and decided to try something different. I also have 3 cats so I had to wait until a time when I had a place to put a cage that was

Check out the heart of my inspiration who sings his own melodies from scratch and bobs his head to latin jazz at http://wwwthewritersreview.blogspot.com. Anyone here a writer and bird enthusiast? Well, I don't have video yet, but he is one cute picture! He still sleeps on my head ...

| What makes people...... | 16 Oct 2007 05:01 GMT | 1 |
What makes people buy a budgie and a cafe?? Supply food and water and that's it. I saw this poor bird sitting in his cage with no toys, a small mirror that was laying on the floor of the cage. I asked the ownerif I can bring a toy on my next visit. That was accepted and I

| When? | 15 Oct 2007 20:06 GMT | 1 |
Tell me -- those who own and know the parakeet: I have two, so they obviously have bonded. When are they going to get used to me? Is it such an awkward variable, determined by too many factors, or am I missing something. I mean, I take care of these

| Parakeet all of a sudden sleeping at the top of the cage. Why? | 15 Oct 2007 17:50 GMT | 1 |
I recently moved. I have two budgies. One of them has started sleeping at the top of the cage and I'm concerned. I thought it was cold, so I doubled the blanket I cover them with. But she's still doing it. I thought it might be the vent across the room (low heat), so I turned

| "When Can I Expect" things to "Happen?" | 15 Oct 2007 14:37 GMT | 5 |
I have been trying, using all kinds of methods, to introduce my parakeets to fruit; I went down to the local "Wal-Mart," that place where I own the "W," and I got a very small package of fresh fruit mixture.

| Sexing young budgies | 11 Oct 2007 01:11 GMT | 1 |
I have found a local breeder that sells hand-fed budgies and I am interested in getting two. They are just beginning to get their feathers and I am trying to decide which ones I want. At what age will it be possible to tell the males and females apart, will it be several weeks
