Damaged Oscar31 Jan 2004 01:42 GMT1
I have a pair of Oscars about 6 inches long (so far!) in a 125g tank that
are for all observations healthy and typical. The other day I came down and
found that one had ripped the pectoral fin of the other clean off - nothing
left. I've kept Oscars for a while so I'm used to damage ...

What's your opinion of keeping 4 silver dollars with 1 or 2 blue-eye
cichlids?
I currently have an empty 40 gallon tank.  I'm looking for suggestions on
what to include with my 4 silver dollars.
Bubblegum Parots?29 Jan 2004 22:44 GMT18
My wife came home with 3 Bubblegum Parot fish... I think they are that
crossbreed using red-devils and something else.  Very oddly shaped.
Anyway... I can't seem to really find much information on these fish.
Am I searching on the wrong name?  I searched Google for Parot Fish

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone knew the typical spawn size of N.
similis. I had two wild females have spawns last month. One female shortly
thereafter lost a territorial dispute with a rival male (her mate was so
badly damaged I had to move him to another tank, I'd move her ...
My near dead angel is back27 Jan 2004 11:27 GMT6
A several months ago I put a rather agresive angel into my "hospital" tank
because it kept beating up the other Angels.
Amongst a series of incidents I squashed him with a sharp piece of slate and
took a great chunk out of his side.

Help: Gill worm on a red zebra?26 Jan 2004 20:11 GMT3
I have a Red Zebra Malawi Cichlid which has a black string about an inch
long dangling out of one gill.   Both gills appear to be red and swollen.
All the gill worm descriptions I was able to find describe white/green
worms which are barely measured in millimeters... this seems not ...
Questions about positioning a 45G tank26 Jan 2004 19:25 GMT1
I have a 45G tank in my living room running for few months now, my concern
is that because it is in the middle of the room span every time someone
walks by there is a slight vibration and I can see the water and the tank
shaking a bit. The other day I had couple of little kids ...

I have always wanted an Oscar or oscars and now I have a 55 gallon
tank.  I think I need special filtration don't I?  Also how many can I
keep in a tank that size, I know they can get quite big.  Any info is
greatly appreciated.
Speaking of Oscars25 Jan 2004 22:47 GMT1
Is it true that a baby Oscar will stunt its own growth so that it won't
outgrow a small tank?
