Hello there folks, I have a little problem with a large angelfish at
the pet shop... we have him in an isolation tank in our back room...
he has what appears to be miniscule grains of rice stuck all over him.
They are white, oblong, and probably about the size of this dash " -

Poor fish purchase29 Nov 2004 00:14 GMT2
I purchased some Cichlids from a guy in Miami, Fancy Koi. Five of the fish
died on the 30 mile trek home. He said he'd make good. I gave up on trying
to get it together with him after he set up a time on Friday for a Saturday
meeting. That Saturday he was no where to be found. ...

Julies galore26 Nov 2004 06:24 GMT1
I picked up 7 Julidochromis regani and stuck them into a 40g tank by
themselves until I had a bigger tank ready for them.  Knowing about their
reputation for intolerance to each other, I piled rocks up the back of
the tank almost to the surface.  As fate would have it, their ...
styrofoam and tank leveling25 Nov 2004 14:51 GMT12
I'm about to set up my 75 gallon cichlid tank.  I've heard that you
should put a piece of styrofoam under the tank to even things out when
it settles.  My question is, how thick should this be?  1/2 inch, 1
inch?

medicine question x-posted14 Nov 2004 15:45 GMT1
I bought a used tank about a week ago which contains an oscar fish, with
what I believe is hole in the head disease.  I purchased some medicine
called Hole in the Head Guard and was wondering if anyone has experience
with this medicine or not.  Does it work?  It looks like a ...
Antibiotic food - home made - help please11 Nov 2004 14:46 GMT2
I have two Oscars which are looking rather worse for wear. I recently had
my filter crash on me (somehow the multi plug pushed up against the tank
and turned the switch off) I lost two fish before I realised something was
wrong. I have completed stripped down the tank and completely ...
blue oscars?10 Nov 2004 09:27 GMT4
Has anyone ever heard of a true "blue oscar"? I know a person that
says they have them, but I think they are dyed. He has people
defending him saying threw selective breeding they can achieve a blue
oscar much like a blue dempsey or flowerhorn ect. I still dont believe
hole in the head (x-posted to alt aquaria oscars)07 Nov 2004 13:39 GMT3
I just purchased a used aquarium today. It is a 40 gallon and it has an
oscar, a green terror, a convict cichlid, and a good sized pleco in it.  The
people that I bought it from told me that they only change the water every 3
to 4 months in it.  I have never had cichlids before, ...
