Parrot Cichlid in Brackish tank???30 Jan 2005 18:42 GMT2
Has anyone tried putting Parrot Cichlid in slight brackish tank?  I have a
large tank (125 gal) that I am keeping Monos, but would love to have a
couple of Parrot cichlids.
Thanks for reading.
Red Tiger Oscar30 Jan 2005 13:36 GMT17
I live in Brisbane Australia.  I recently bought a baby red tiger
oscar.  Does it require a heater?  It is quite warm here in summer,
take today for instance it was about 30 degrees celcius and very
humid.  However it does get as low as 12 degrees celcius in Winter.  I
Finally Stocked!29 Jan 2005 19:10 GMT2
My 55 gallon finally cycled--hey, I know four weeks isn't that long of a
time, but we were really getting tired of staring at an empty tank.  We
braved the snow and went to the fish store today, and now the tank has
occupants: 6 small Labidichromis caerelus and 6 small ...

Do you think this will work for my big tank?  Think it will be as noisy as a
swimming pool filter?

Oscar changed colour29 Jan 2005 04:27 GMT8
I bought my oscar yesterday, and in the pet store it was all black,
with red circles.
Now it has some transparent stripes which run vertically all the way
around the fish up to the red circles.  Is this normal?  The

Sick angelfish?28 Jan 2005 13:30 GMT1
I've got an angelfish (pterophyllum scalare) who doesn't look very happy
right now: damaged fins with bloody streaks on them and around the body (at
the base of the fins), black specks (seems like Ick, but black), and the
fish seems very thin, being very small in comparison to the ...
Scuba diver ornament27 Jan 2005 03:48 GMT3
I remember when I was a kid seeing fish tank ornaments of divers, and
the used to continually float and then sink, with bubbles coming out
of them.  I can't find them anywhere on eBay.  Does anyone know where
I can get these, preferrably in Australia, but any will do.

Attack Of the O'25 Jan 2005 12:22 GMT4
Ok people tonight I saw something I never expected to see. This also
involves a question too. I saw my O' Rex guard a cuccumber from the
pl*co. Not only that he was eating it. Now from the the knowledge from
everyone here and elsewhere I was under the impression they were not
African cichlid mix23 Jan 2005 16:32 GMT2
I need some advice. I have a mix of Lakes Victoria, Malawi and Tanganyikan
cichlids in a 55 gallon tank. All the fish look healthy except my 2 Vic's. They
both have hollow bellies and their color is a little paler than it used to be.
Is this a sign of internal parasites and, if so, ...
Anyone else keep UARU'S??23 Jan 2005 12:50 GMT3
I have 5 Uaru's and I just love them, they are so cool. Doesn't seem like many
other folks keep them, and they should! Neat fish!
Anyone else here have Uaru's??
Also, if you do, there is a nifty little forum devoted exclusively to these

Cichlid babies, updated web pages17 Jan 2005 15:38 GMT4
Mornin',   I had some time (away from the fishtanks) so I updated my
web page.  If I can't be there fussing with them, it's also fun to
update the pictures and web log.
I broke the pics out into 4 separate pages for easier downloads.
