Bichardi28 Apr 2005 19:19 GMT2
I'm fairly new to keeping cichlids and have had some bichardi for a few
month now, and now many babbies.  I know they are substrate breeders and
also colony breeders.  Apart from that not much else i could find.  I
was wondering if a.) anyone has experience with them and b.) ...
Severums have stopped?22 Apr 2005 13:37 GMT2
Breeding that is. I have a gold female that was laying eggs like crazy,
but kept swapping out potential mates until I found a male. He's a huge
green male that succeeded in 2 spawnings. I moved the babes to another tank
a few times. She then left a few batches of unfertilized ...

Pike disappeared20 Apr 2005 11:33 GMT2
I just set up one of my tanks - a 55 gal. - to be a cichlid tank (I have
four other community tanks).  I really had my heart set on a pike cichlid.
I asked a friend of mine who has always had pretty good luck keeping pikes.
He suggested some tank mates for the pike and even went ...
Oscar question...18 Apr 2005 12:58 GMT7
I have a 240gal tank that I am currently running freshwater with bala's and
Angel and miscellaneous tetras.  I was thinking that an oscar would be great
for a tank this size as well as perhaps a Jack Dempsey or other large
cichlid.

I went with my friend to some LFS that we'd never been to the other
day because he wanted to get some stuff for his tank, and I ended up
stumbling across a tank full of VERY colorfull german blue rams that
were about 1.25 inches long. It was written on the tank that they were

I have a peaceful Malawi tank with two Aulonocara Baenschi, and the female is
brooding some young ones. Her mouth has become enlarged, and I can see some babies
swimming around inside. This is an 80G tank with 4 other Malawi cichlids and six
big clown loaches.

Hello all.  Just getting back into this hobby after a 15 year vacation.

Sydontis njassae og pseudotropheus crabro issues.09 Apr 2005 03:29 GMT1
I've recently purchased a small batch of s. njassae catfish, approx 2-3
cm in size.
Normally, Mbuna tend to leave them be, atleast from what I know, but
upon introduction to the tank, my ps. crabro snatched one, and started
Yellow Lab Maternal behavior03 Apr 2005 05:08 GMT4
I've had good experience lately with my yellow labs spawning in my 75 gallon
community tank. After the first female spawned, I removed her to a well
planted 10 gallon tank and eventually noticed 5 babies swimming around the
rocks. I returned the female to the community tank, and ...
