I bought 4 young African cichlids last week and now they are swimming
at an angle with their heads up and body dangling. It looks like
they're swimming with great effort also. What can be the cause? Also
some of them are hanging at the water surface and one is sitting on the
Tank odour26 Oct 2005 12:47 GMT3
Is it okay for the tank to smell like a tropical greenhouse?
I've been keeping african cichlids since about 1997, and everytime I take a
whiff of the air wafting over the surface of the tank (I have a glass lid
over the tank) it smells, well, like a greenhouse; that damp, soily, ...

I have an established cichlid tank (6 yrs) with 4 Convicts about 8-10

What plants if any can go with chiclids?07 Oct 2005 03:01 GMT4
I was wondering if I can keep plants with chiclids. I have 9 1.5"
convicts in a 10 gallon tank (This is temporary, they were in a bag and
would have died if I hadn't accepted them, it was the best I could do
for now, so yes I know the tank is small). I was wondering what plants
Commercial choices in food ?06 Oct 2005 19:01 GMT4

which has grown significantly and ...
