Feeding Firemouth fry.30 Dec 2005 22:07 GMT2
I have a pair of Firemouth Cichlids that have spawned twice. The parents
were good in leading their little troop around the tank. The fry do well
for about a week, and then all of a sudden, they're all gone. I don't
know if they aren't feeding and dying or if the parents are ...
Sevreum as main attraction29 Dec 2005 09:10 GMT3
I want to setup a 48G tank with a Severum as the main attraction.  What
dither fish can I add in with it?  Can I put Zebra Danios or Blennies?  Or
will it pretty much kill those?
driftwood discoloration26 Dec 2005 03:41 GMT7
I just shelled out $20 at the LPS for a smallish piece of driftwood, in the
forlorn idiots hopes that such an expensive piece would not give me the sort
of problems that found driftwood potentially usually has, namely
contamination, floating, and discoloration of the water.  Well I ...

My convict cichlids lay about 50 eggs a month but they end up eating al

Hi folks.  I have a planted tank w/ hiding spaces containing about 12-15

symmetrical infection above mouth of ram?14 Dec 2005 22:46 GMT1
I just noticed today that one of my ram seems to have some sort of
swelling above his mouth.  Unfortunatley, he's still a little guy, and
I couldn't say for sure how long he's had it---or if he's even had it
for all of the 2 months or so that I've had him.
discus rubbing themselves against leaves13 Dec 2005 18:40 GMT2
I'm a relatively new discus keeper and I don't know if I have a problem or
not, but my discus appear to be itchy...  They are constantly rubbing their
eyes against the plant leaves...  The will swim up and flick themselves
against plant leaves or the driftwood...  I don't know if ...
sand substrate13 Dec 2005 18:06 GMT3
I've got some fish for whom a sand substrate is reccomended (Geophageous,
African Peacocks) but I have always found in the past that sand inevitably
gets into the impellers for power filters and / power heads, destroying
them.  1) Is this  the case or am I doing something wrong, and ...
My convict cichlids eggs have hatched ... what now?11 Dec 2005 14:55 GMT2
My convicts eggs have hatched. I'm hatching brine shrimp eggs to feed
them and have removed all the other cichlids from the tank other than
the parents. The yolk sacks are still attached to the fry so I haven't
put any baby brine shimp in the tank yet. I am relatively new with
