| food for cichlids | 28 Feb 2006 21:14 GMT | 1 |
I try to give my cichlids a good variety of food, I feed them the allways popular Tetra cichlid sticks plus Omega one, cichlid attack, flozen brine shrimp, frozen blood worms, and of course live minnows. I stay away from feeder goldfish, they allway seem to have a fungus or ...

| Help: new tank for Julidochromous sp. | 27 Feb 2006 12:50 GMT | 1 |
Hello all; Inspired by NetMax's recent post (re: DIY styrofoam sculpture [hat-tip to NetMAx]), I've conceived a plan for a tank and "sculpture" that I want to fabricate.

| I am trying to figure out the correct ratio: | 24 Feb 2006 16:24 GMT | 1 |
Okay, I am wanting to start a frontosa tank. I am planning on buying a 50 gal. breeding tank this week. How long will 8 fronts manage in a 50 gal? With 8 in a tank, will there be enough in a 50 without there being an aggression/territorial problem? I had a huge problem

| Cichlid Books | 23 Feb 2006 00:03 GMT | 4 |
Greetings to all you usenet fish experts, I used to have a pretty good, if slightly dated library of books on Cichlids. Unfortunatley about 95% of my books were destroyed in Hurricane Katrina. I have at last set aside a small sum of money to begin to start

| Mpimbwe vs. 7 Stripe | 22 Feb 2006 23:16 GMT | 1 |
Okay, I've had my heart set on getting 6 Mpimbwe this week, but the store I ordered them from got 7 Stripe instead. What is the difference? What is the difference in any Front for that matter? I want the largest, most striking Frontosa out there. Are they all similar?

| Bottom 55 gal tank with fish? | 22 Feb 2006 01:06 GMT | 3 |
I have a 55 gal planted show tank with some discus, cordy cats and various neon and a pair of German Blue Rams. The bottom of the stand looks inviting for another 55 gal and since I have an extra hood and heater I'd though I'd put another 55 gal one below the top one.

| Is My Flounder Sick? | 19 Feb 2006 20:00 GMT | 3 |
I bought a couple freshwater flounder a couple weeks back. Unfortunately I put them in a tank with "mildly" aggressive cichlids (they managed to kill two other cichlids, all of my shrimp and the crawdad). They ate one flounder and the other is badly scarred on his back with his ...

| Mbuna Cichlids | 14 Feb 2006 14:57 GMT | 11 |
I am going to setup a Mbuna Cichlids 75gl tak. I would like to keep the top open and suspend a 4' shop light over the tank. Would there be a problem with the fish jumping out? I am not sure if they are jumpers or not. My tank is in the garage and I will build a simple stand. ...

| Looking for Good Oscar and Cichlid Info? | 13 Feb 2006 18:34 GMT | 1 |
alt.aquaria.oscars was created by myself in 1997 as an alternative to what was then an extremely busy rec.aquaria.freshwater.cichlids. RAFC has gotten very slow (relatively speaking -- in those days it had over 100 new posts daily!), and AAO has only one relevant post annually ...
