Eheim, Fluval, or some other brand?  Which model?
I've used power filters for two decades and primarily because my girlfriend
hates the sound of running water am finally switching to a cannister filter.

I have a fairly newly setup cichlid tank, and thinking that my filtration is
marginal. The tank is 125G nominal capacity but actual water volume is more like
100 gallons. Size is 6' long, 18" wide, and 20" high. The population consists of
six 3.5" to 5.5" Lake Malawi cichlids, ...

My Auratus spawned 3 weeks ago, and I am putting that female in a seperate
tank. Now an additional female has spawned. Can I safely put her in with the
other female and have both of them raising their fry in the other tank?

One website that seems to be fine for purchasing fish on the Internet is
www.aquariumfish.net . How ever this site recommends that a MAX of 1/4"
of gravel be used. I don't think I would agree with this but I was
wondering if anyone else had any experience in the comparison. I
