Mostly OT: *sigh*31 Jul 2003 20:55 GMT7
Well, I got a lot of catching up to do. Sun late afternoon/early evening, we
took a lightning strike here, that fried our cable modem. It was pretty
weird - there was a really close strike, then a very loud "SNAP!!!" that
sounded like it went right over my head or something, as I ...

It has come to my attention that someone is trying to sabotage adoptions at my
shelter..a person wrote me saying "A woman called my fiance and told him that
no longer were applicants being accepted to adopt ferrets for the shelter was

Get the one for kittens. Same stuff, just less of it. Treat your fuzz,
and toss the rest. In 7 years, and 27 ferrets here at home today, I
have never had an adverse reaction, or problem with Advantage. Works
great.
YO Claudia!!30 Jul 2003 15:53 GMT2
I thought you blocked you stupid twat. What's the deal? Do you need me
to show you how to compose a proper filter? I hope you know more about
running that home business that you do about setting up a simple
filter.

1st Vet visit29 Jul 2003 04:31 GMT1
Took my furrie to the vet for the first time (for me, I'm his 3rd owner,
first was abusive, second had a new baby and no time for him).  He got his
boosters ( I almost cried, just like when I took my son for his first
shots ), stayed at the vets as recommended,  to watch for ...
Help - staggering ferret...28 Jul 2003 22:56 GMT1
Onyx is a rescue ferret that adopted me about 2 1/2 years ago. She had a
double adrenalectomy (sp?) and a massive hairball removed in April. Our best
guess is that she is now 4 1/2 to 5 years old. She has a history of dry
heaves that we speculate is hairball related. I have been ...

I adopted a gib from someone who was moving and couldn't take him with
her.  Buff is about 2 years old and maybe two pounds.  I already have
Shadow, a 4 year-old sprite, and Pudge, a 20 month-old gib, who is in
the 3-4 pound range..
wrestling....27 Jul 2003 18:52 GMT5
This morning, Boris & Natasha were wrestling.  While watching, I noticed
that Boris was biting her a lot on her face.  Has anyone ever had a ferret
lose an eye to such rough play?

Meat Mush27 Jul 2003 08:52 GMT3
All this talk about food recently has made me think about feeding my boys
something different.  So I looked in 'ferrets for dummies' at the recipes..
and decided to make up my own ;o)
So, my first attempt has resulted in 'meat mush', and seems to be going down

Ariel Update24 Jul 2003 04:11 GMT2
Well, Ariel's been on her Atenolol for a wk now, & the difference in her is
nothing short of amazing!
Her nose & ears used to go just totally *white*, & she spent much of her
time being very lethargic. She's now PINK - not just nose & ears, but even
Odor Control23 Jul 2003 19:25 GMT2
I have been seriously considering getting a ferret for a few months now, and
I am concerned about ferret smells leaving the room that will be half
dedicated to them (with some fencing) to the rest of the place. Even with
daily pooper-scoopering this seems like it could be the case, ...
