Wah:-) Kenny's got mites or Berry bugs.& Bad day.20 Sep 2003 02:31 GMT1
Can't understand how unless the cat has passed them to him. He's my house
ferret and I noticed his fur on his back was scabby and bald within days.
Went to vets and he gave me a Frontline vial. Luckily I remembered what had
been said here about the dosage and I told him that. We ...

Please spare some thoughts today for Bashu.
I made an appointment for him to be assisted to the RB in about 2½ hours :-(

Finally licked the carpet "on-purposes" (read "accidents")19 Sep 2003 19:32 GMT1
I've finally licked the carpet "accident" stains (which we all know are
really "on-purposes," because most ferrets communicate using their bum). All
the sprays, deordorizers and chemicals in the world got nothing on plain,
old, versatile WATER.
Just a thought...19 Sep 2003 08:13 GMT2
Hey all,
I was just wondering, as you all sit possibly here at night, in the
dark, as I do, and you read all these really sad posts about people who have
sick ferrets and ferrets who have just passed, if it ever really really
Saga of the latest design ferret housing.18 Sep 2003 21:15 GMT1
A lady from 'fur and feather' magazine came today to interview me about the
rescue, plus look at the housing I have for various creatures.
We had a cuppa and chat, then I showed her the various small creatures I
have here, including the ferrets in their new outside housing. I was ...

Got the new girl into her cage18 Sep 2003 01:08 GMT5
The roommate pulled the little girl I wanted from her cage and moved the
ferret to one of mine.
The established colony made her less than welcome.  No poofing, no blood.
Some discontented screaming as Artie let her know who was boss.
Mochaccino18 Sep 2003 00:46 GMT1
Took poor Mochi to the vet today, he is spending the night there. He
has seemed pretty sick for a couple of days. Foaming at the mouth,
drinknig a lot of water, but pawing at his mouth when he does. Doc
couldnt find any signs of blockage, but is doing xrays and will get
Ferret sitter in Dallas area18 Sep 2003 00:09 GMT2
I'm looking for someone ferret knowledgable who can keep my two kids while
I'm out of town over Christmas.    Worst case scenario, I could board them
at the vet, but they hate the vet's office, plus I doubt they'd get out of
their cage much for excercise, etc.      I am in the ...
my fuzzy is backing up and dumping short of the landfill. 17 Sep 2003 19:53 GMT13
Mr. WIlson up until 3 or so weeks ago was about 97% potty trained to go in
the pans if not a miss right next to it. Which i have been satisfied. Now
for about 3 weeks or so the corner pan i have next to a wall by my bed, it
is one of his famous back up down the alley and dump pans. ...
Heidi is gone...17 Sep 2003 13:11 GMT11
After fighting adrenal for two years (with the help of Lupron and a great
doc) our 8-year old Heidi has crossed over.  She was an amazing little girl
and will be missed by us and the other fuzzies.  "May flights of angels sing
thee to thy rest"
Almost Famous?17 Sep 2003 12:56 GMT2
Ariel had her yrly shots today, & Dr B got to check her over really well for
the first time since her episode of weight loss, after starting on the
Atenolol for her supraventricular tachycardia.
She's currently at her second-highest weight she's ever recorded, her eyes
Ferret w/Insulinoma and Adrenal Disease Question17 Sep 2003 05:43 GMT5
I have a nearly 7 year old ferret that was diagnosed with Insulinoma
awhile back. She did fine on prednisone syrup for quite some time, but
eventually that was not enough. She now also receives Diazoxide twice a
day as well. This has worked very well for her and she acts normal,
Squeaky Toy: My ferret is a maniac over this thing17 Sep 2003 01:43 GMT3
Hana, queen of the "courtesy poo", is obssessed with a rubber squeak
toy I have. I think it was designed as a doggie toy.
My question is this. She stashes everything into her hidey holes that
she loves, from my socks to Kudo bars (still in the wrapper) to pages
Found missing ferret16 Sep 2003 16:34 GMT5
After finding a pic, making up signs and spending $25 to start the hunt,
Hobbes turned up in the house.  He was found sleeping in a former rescue
cage that hadn't been cleaned out yet.  The best we can figure is he went in
there and someone shut the door behind him.  There was food ...
