Hello !23 Feb 2004 17:59 GMT12
I thought I should introduce myself to this newsgroup :)
I am kei, 29, from France, and I have a 5 months old albino male ferret
named Azrael.
I fell in love with ferrets long ago when I was 15 or something like that
Ferret Noises23 Feb 2004 17:58 GMT7
I've read a lot of ferret books that describe ferrets as making
'dooking' noises. What exactly is this? Mine makes a 'gasping' noise
sometimes when he's play-attacking, and making a grunting noise
occasionally - i think when he's annoyed, maybe about being put back

We live in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada (near Vancouver) and are

second adrenal post-op prednisone23 Feb 2004 17:17 GMT3
My digified old lady ferret, Lizzie, recently had her second adrenal
surgery. She's now home and recovering nicely.
While I was arranging the surgery with the vet, she mentioned that she had
just returned form a conference where these surgeries were a topic, and
Things our ferrets teach us...23 Feb 2004 15:51 GMT4
Don't pull your manky rubber soled trainers from the back of the wardrobe
and wear them to the ferret room.... unless you want to experience 4 ferrets
trying to steal your feet.
Just my daily observation...... feel free to add your own daily wisdom.

Another Shining Star At the Rainbow Bridge22 Feb 2004 13:25 GMT6
Koto, a delightful little girl who belonged to a good friend, crossed
over the other night. She was a rescue, estimated to be at least 8 or
9 years old. She has been losing energy the past few months, always
cheerful, but preparing herself to rejoin her best buddy, Roscoe who
Driving with ferrets22 Feb 2004 07:21 GMT28
I went to Petsmart yesterday to get ferret (and dog... and cat...) supplies
and, as usual, took a ferret in harness and on leash along.
The ferret rides on the passenger seat with the leash tied to the head rest.
This lets them walk around the seat, get onto the floor on the back, ...
Protecting SallyMae?21 Feb 2004 19:58 GMT1
Earlier I said I was putting SallyMae in her cage for her own protection.
Now I'm not sure who's being protected, SallyMae or the cats!  When SallyMae
is ready to play or wants attention, she will pounce on the cats and annoy
them until they either play or run off.  When they play ...

Get Fuzzy alert!21 Feb 2004 13:37 GMT11
As a relative newbie, I am not sure what the group thinks about the "Get
Fuzzy" cartoon.
There was a time I liked its portrayal of the neighbour's ferret, but this
week ferrets are called "a species of animal that's dangerous enough to be
Plexiglass/Lucite prices- questions20 Feb 2004 05:00 GMT18
Went to Lowes and figured I was going to pick up a sheet of plexiglass for
the doorway. For a full 1/8 sheet they wanted 39.77. So I was going to get a
24 inch high by 48 inch long piece for 14.00 bucks but they were out.
For the people who do have them. How much did you pay? How ...
From Under the Couch20 Feb 2004 03:02 GMT9
In honor, or remembrance, of Minya's passing (see other message) I've gotten
myself in motion and posted the last "From Under the Couch" the ferrets were
working on when she left us.  Been working on since August of 2002, in fact.
Amazing how time flies, eh?

Ferrets and puppy19 Feb 2004 11:46 GMT3
I let the girls Tara and Skye  (ferrets) out to play with the puppy.  I had
let them play with him earlier, but they beat him up.
I turned them loose in the house instead of the playpen.  Their little tails
were bottle brushed.  They played with the puppy, Quinn, from time to time.
