White poop?24 Oct 2004 17:18 GMT5
I took the ferrets out for an education day.  We gave the lots of
olive oil.  I know too much causes the runs.  Brian was awake almost
the whole time.  He got lots of olive oil.
He pooped on the table and it was little more than white fluid.  Dan

He managed to bend the wire in his run and go AWOL (absent with out leave).

Free wonderful toy!!23 Oct 2004 22:12 GMT2
It is autumn here, the leaves are dropping off the trees. I gathered up a
huge bin bag full and dumped them into the ferret run. I laughed until my
sides ached at the sight of them all chasing each other and digging in the
masses of leaves :0)

I just became Gpa to a ferret face and I sure love that little guy.  He will
be living with us for a while, and hopefully we can gain custody because we
have a nice stable comfortable home here, as opposed to running around an
apartment all day untrained and unsnoopervised.  He's ...

Ideal temperature range?22 Oct 2004 11:33 GMT1
Just curious, what is the ideal temperature range to maintain inside the
home for the little fuzzies?  With their relatively thin coats, I suspect
they don't tolerate cold temps very well.  thx - CW
My Gizmo suddenly died tonight21 Oct 2004 01:56 GMT3
Dar noticed Gizzy sitting on the mat in the bedroom tonight,
when she picked him up he seemed limp, so brought him out to me.
At this point I noticed how he had runny dark poops all over his rump.
We washed him off, was checking him out, gave him a shot of kaopectate,
Is Ferret Tone==Olive Oil?19 Oct 2004 13:30 GMT9
We adopted our first ferret last night.
The (very nice!) lady at the shelter showed us how to clean the ears and
clip the nails. She put Ferret Tone on the ferret's belly to make it easy
to clip the nails. She said that Ferret Tone is 'just olive oil'.
wicked ferrets?18 Oct 2004 20:43 GMT2
I know this is a serious matter, but I believe a little comic relief is in
order.  Also some food for thought.
If I were to let my ferret play in my backyard, would he tend to catch the
rats that live under the big stump?  Being an "dumb animal", he could be
so, I'm considering becoming a ferret owner...17 Oct 2004 03:47 GMT15
About six months ago, I was enthralled by ferrets at a local pet
store.
I was amazed by how friendly and willing to play these animals were,
almost like a dog, yet in an appartment friendly size.  I have since

alt.pets.ferrets was your main source to obtain IP address so now that

wicked is as wicked does13 Oct 2004 02:21 GMT1
I can tell from the "wicked" thread, animal rights are a hot topic in merry
old Enland.  Holy smokes, digging up cadavers???  Whats up with that?
Just to add a tidbit from the US, the mainstream animal rights group here is
called PETA, or people for the ethical treatment of animals. ...
