| Burn | 29 Mar 2005 01:13 GMT | 3 |
My Wife and I have found what appears to be a second or third degree burn on the back of the Ferret we are babysitting. On questioning the owner over the phone,it appears she sustained it after a new cooker was fitted and the oven was on.

| Three-footed ferret | 28 Mar 2005 16:05 GMT | 3 |
About my 3-legged boy, "Buddy", we picked him up two days ago and he is a easy going sweetie. He hasn't had the best life, though not bad, just not great (probably barely good if you ask me). Both his front legs were dislocated or broken as a result of a kid"playing" with him by

| breeding ferrets | 28 Mar 2005 10:57 GMT | 3 |
I have a pair of ferrets sharing a cage and run, the hob is coming up to 2yrs old the jill 10 months, I believe she has just come into season. The hob has become very aggresive towards the jill grabing her by the neck and making her bleed, I've been told that this is normal. I

| Looking for cage | 28 Mar 2005 06:52 GMT | 17 |
I am looking for a new cage for our little fuzz butts. I want one that is rather square, tall and has the plastic trays instead of wire mesh. If anyone has one near Dallas, TX or knows the cheapest place to get one, please let me know.

| Hobbes crossed the Rainbow Bridge | 25 Mar 2005 23:03 GMT | 6 |
This morning Hobbes died on his way to the vet to be put to sleep. Hobbes is one of the "kits" we kept from my breeding days. He was my son's pet until he lost interest in the ferrets. Hobbes was a big dark sable boy with a hooded mask. He was friendly and outgoing and used as

| Leash Training | 25 Mar 2005 03:51 GMT | 9 |
I had waited for the fuzzies to grow a little before starting leash training. Now am wondering how to go about it. Both of then easily slip out of the harness, as they sort of panic being restrained. Their harness is adjusted to the minimum size. Perhaps I should try the

| breeding - how hold is too old?? | 22 Mar 2005 04:37 GMT | 7 |
I have two ferrets, whify and wombat. Whify is now very ill and we don't expect her to live much longer. Unfortunately she has cancer which has also lead to ascites (swelling of he abdomen). Wombat, her sister is approx 5 years old, I want her to be able to have kits this season so ...

| Can't stop at one... | 22 Mar 2005 04:26 GMT | 9 |
I've always wanted a ferret, but was always overridden by my wife. About a month ago, she stopped into the local pet shop for some fish food, and came home with Rosie, a Marshall ferret (sable) about 8 weeks old. "She was all alone, and looked so sad!"

| Penny broke a claw... | 21 Mar 2005 22:48 GMT | 7 |
Last night during the evening romp Penny hung a claw on a big wicker basket we have in the living room and broke it off very near the toe. It was several minutes before we realized anything was wrong, she didn't cry and we were preoccupied with a couple of the other three ferts.

| Ferret treats | 21 Mar 2005 13:49 GMT | 6 |
Our Bacchus eats two kinds of kibble, Totally Ferret and Marshall active adult. I supplement this with a small amount of Ferretvite and a couple Bandits daily. I'm wondering, however, if it would be OK to give him treats from the people

| Deaf ferret talking question | 19 Mar 2005 16:14 GMT | 4 |
I've had 3 deaf ferrets, each one as different as could be in the past 11 yrs. Jaspar and Simon never talked but would scream if scruffed by another ferret. Carolyn chattered all the time awake and asleep. I got Fiona a couple of weeks ago. We were told she was deaf and

| How long for ferrets to get to know each other? | 16 Mar 2005 14:49 GMT | 16 |
We have 3 ferrets, Rosie, a 12 week old female Sable, Coco, about 10 weeks old, a chocolate male, and Joey, a 7 week old Chocolate male. Rosie was alone for about a month or so before we aquired the other two. Rosie is bullying the little ones. She will lay on top of them, and

| Shadow's limp | 15 Mar 2005 22:27 GMT | 7 |
My ferret, Shadow, has always been a very energetic and strong male ferret. He is now about 5 years old or so. Saturday night he seemed just fine, running around and so forth, though at one point he chose to nap by the wall rather than climb to a usual spot in a drawer or under

| Ferret toys | 14 Mar 2005 07:09 GMT | 1 |
I think I found the ultimate ferret toy. Its a little toy stuffed bird, with feathers and a fake tail, suspended from a cord at the end of a short stick. I got it at Petco in the cat toy section. Our Bacchus goes crazy over it, leaping up in the air to catch it then biting it ...

| Ferret voices | 13 Mar 2005 14:19 GMT | 5 |
Hello: We are foster parents of a 9 mos old sable-blaze little devil named Bacchus. He lives alone in his 5X5 foot pen in the basement and spends lots of time every day out of his pen either roaming his basement while I'm working there or under closer supervision upstairs in the ...
