Our Bacchus, 9-mos old male, has a rather limited diet.  He gets two kinds
of kibble (Marshalls and Totally Ferret), all he can eat, plus a couple
Bandits and some Ferretvite everyday.  He self limits his intake of kibble
but will gobble up the treats and Ferretvite (sort of ...
Tasha14 Apr 2005 20:34 GMT2
Surgery went perfectly.  Doc said she looked very healthy and we caught
the adrenal early.  She will remain at the vet until Saturday; the doc
and I agreed that it would be a good thing for her recovery to keep her
away from the rambunctious Boris for a few days to let her knit.
Bathing - thx for the advice10 Apr 2005 07:38 GMT8
Thanks for the feedback.  Because Bacchus has been scratching a lot, I
bathed him with some Marshall's shampoo and applied some Advantage flea
treatment (the kind that goes behind the neck).  He's none the worse for
wear, the bath did not relieve the itching and I'm still waiting to ...

Tasha does have adrenal.
Our vet agreed; Tasha's symptoms are pretty conclusive.  He has done
many adrenal surgeries and been very successful with the results.  He
likes to take all of the easy one and all but a tiny part of the hard to
Ferrets gone wild09 Apr 2005 11:18 GMT4
The main reason ferrets are banned in California is because
environmentalists are concerned they will escape into the wild and become an
invasive species, like pythons in Florida or cats in Australia.  I guess
they are afraid the little devils will eat up all the mice and rats in ...
Extreme hair loss09 Apr 2005 11:05 GMT4
My 4 years old ferret has bin losing a lot of hair the last couple of
months, in the beginning the tail and the belly was almost bald.
I looked into the disease: adrenal disease but only the hair loss fits.
Sow I don't think that this is what is wrong with her.

"Cissy" went to the bridge 3/4/0507 Apr 2005 07:37 GMT7
Our sweetest dearest "Cissy" went to the bridge on Sunday March 4th,
2005 at right about 2:05 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. She knew she was
loved and not alone, as we were touching and softly stroking her while
the long sleep took her to be with those that have gone before her. For
I think Tasha may have adrenal06 Apr 2005 04:46 GMT6
Symtoms she is exhibiting:
Thinning coat
Swollen genitals
"Pot-bellied" appearance

I read once in a ferret magazine that PB is *NOT* good for ferrets, but I
don't remember if it said why. I bought PB chips that were for ferrets at
petsmart, and they LOVED them.... I give them a real PB chip (the ones you
can make cookies with) every now and again for a special ...
Please - need some help desperately01 Apr 2005 20:21 GMT8
First of all I know what I did was a very big no no but I just couldn't
resist.  I visited my friend in TN Easter weekend.  I had been talking to my
friend the week previously and she told me a new petstore just opened up in
town and that they had an albino.  I've been wanting an ...
Bathing01 Apr 2005 18:44 GMT11
How often do you bathe your ferrets?  My son used to bathe our Bacchus every
month or two.  He said it was to eliminate the "ferret smell".  B's been
living with us for about 6 weeks now.  He smells just fine to me and his
coat feels clean.  He's a Marshall ferret and was ...
