So they say he has the mystery disease. I have read a little about it. In
any case. He got his sutures out and the mass went down but he has a rapid
inflammation of the lymph node and they did an in house CBC today and his
white blood cells came back higher so he is fighting off ...

My 3yr old female ferret had an adrenal tumor removed 3 weeks ago.  Her
recovery seems to be going fine, stitches are out and she's at her
normal activity level.

she felt nodules on her kidney, and other bumps inside when she palpated

Recently, my just turned 2 year old tan male ferret, Nemo, so is my baby
was diagnosed with mast cell tumors.  Now I have read several articles
that they are benign in ferrets and the most effective way to treat them
is by removal via surgery.  He went through surgery on 5/31/05 ...

I had a biopsy done and a CBC and the cbc came back normal. The biopsy the
Dr. thought it had a little more white blood cells than normal. It has to be
sent out and won't be back for a while now he is on pred an antibiotic.

I know to get them as fast as you can to the vet. In any case, the symptoms
are; 104 temp (normal) ....shivering, which I can not understand, sense of
smell increased and food and water are vital, which he is actually eating,
not being bouncy but just sniffing and whining (sp), ...

My ferret, Cosmo, almost 2, hardly eats. Other than that he's fine.
He has been to the vet and checked out. He never has eaten much during
the day. At night, I don't know, because he sleeps with his sister.

I've been thinking for a good long time about getting a ferret but what kept
me off is the idea that ferrets and rats really don't mix. Since I've
