How or when did you get your very first ferret?26 Aug 2005 00:38 GMT3
My first ferret was a Valentines gift from my husband.  He couldn't
think of anything else, so a ferret was his best idea.
I will admit that I cried for 2 days, then I was hopelessly in love.
My husband never complains about my ferrets, because he is the one that

have met new friends because of your ferret?
It's official, Jack is deaf26 Aug 2005 00:22 GMT4
I've done many a hearing test on him, with no response from him, and
then after looking up more info on deaf ferrets I can see that he shows
many of the telltale signs.  He does a lot of stretching his head way
back, and he is a power sniffer.  He does scream loudly during play,
Is My Ferret Male or Female?26 Aug 2005 00:18 GMT7
Look at the ferret's belly. If your ferret has a "belly button", it is a
boy. That is NOT a belly button, but it will be where you will be expecting
to see a bellybutton and it appears as just a little round bump on the skin!
Also, little boys pee about an inch or so in front of ...
Those ferrets are too smart!25 Aug 2005 20:53 GMT1
My ferrets were having playtimes in my son's room last night.  They
really love to nap in his closet.  When I went to wake them up, I
discovered that they had pulled some of his shirts off of the hangers
to sleep on.  My son's closet has 2 poles, one of which is set fairly
BEWARE:  Kaytee Fiesta Food & More25 Aug 2005 10:39 GMT9
I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why dried fruit products are
being marketed for ferrets!  Ferrets are obligate carnivores (meat only) and
their little intestinal tracts are too short to digest the dried fruit
products, so they end up often causing intestinal blockages ...
Kylie: Going For a Romp In The Desert (old)25 Aug 2005 10:39 GMT3
I consider myself pretty quick afoot, but we used to take our
boys out for a romp in the sand in the desert when the weather was cool.
Often I would take them off their leashes  (along with the Sara, the dog,
(whom they loved and would follow anywhere) and we'd all take off ...

lost you ferret, only to discover that it was in the cage, asleep?
I was in a near panick last week.  Couldn't find Ubu Louise anywhere.
Finally, after I had cried off my eyeliner & mascara, I looked in the
cage.  The was little UL asleep without a care in the world.  I was
Another (old) Kylie story....25 Aug 2005 02:07 GMT6
Who says ferrets aren't well behaved???   Last night I was lying on the
couch and Chuck was sitting in his chair across the room from me. He just
finished a bowl of chocolate ice cream (is there anything ferrets love
more????) and he put the empty bowl on the table next to his chair ...
A Kylie Shower Story :-)25 Aug 2005 02:04 GMT4
Just as I exit the shower, she stands ready........'take one step out of
there mommy and your feet are mine!'  (which presents a bit of a problem
when I'm rather one-legged now because of my knee injury).  So I try
begging: 'Kylie no-no. Go get your ball.....no kylie, don't do that
New Ferret- pics and questions24 Aug 2005 22:44 GMT5
Well, that dang ferret math has hit me again!  Meet Jack (name subject
to change).  5 month old MF boy, his birthday is the same day as mine,
March 26th.  He looks so much like Sneaker it's hard to tell them apart
until I'm right up on them.  He has dark eyes but they almost always
Choosing a Ferret Harness24 Aug 2005 22:16 GMT1
I have tried several different harnesses, but my very favorite one is the
Hagen brand  "H" harness with the push button quick-latch.  It is nylon and
completely adjustable.
Put it on in the ferret while still in the house, then keep adjusting it
A little shadow story24 Aug 2005 22:04 GMT1
One time I was taking care of a relative's dog, a large Greyhound.  I'm
always careful to keep Shadow, my ferret, and the dog separate, though
they seem to like each other.
One day, the dog was in the living room, and I saw Shadow about to come
