| Fresh vs. Marine: Which one is more critical temp-wise? | 19 Oct 2003 08:34 GMT | 5 |
I plan to keep a freshwater and a marine tank in my apt. The former will be heavily planted Discus/Cardinal/Ram tank while the marine setup will likely consist of live rock, low light corals plus community fish (Cardinals & Damsels).

| pregnant ghost shrimp...now what?? | 19 Oct 2003 04:52 GMT | 6 |
Hi, I just purchased a few Ghost shrimp and I noticed one of them has about a dozen eggs inside of it. Do I need to do anything special to preserve them? I moved it to a tank that only has Ghost shrimp, and one Bamboo Shrimp (injured in battle). Any help would be great!!! TIA ...

| Pleco the acrobat | 18 Oct 2003 01:28 GMT | 6 |
I wonder if anybody else observed this. From time to time, but rerely I see my pleco in the morning swimming upside down, towards the surface of the water as if the surface was solid. I also see him floating on the surface motionless and he seems to be as if he is attached ...

| Top Fin Aquascene 2 10 Gallon | 17 Oct 2003 15:39 GMT | 2 |
Anyone own this product? It is suppose to be a 10 gallon acrylic tank with a hood, an UGF and a air pump. How well is it constructed? Will I be flooding my living room? Also, I intend to keep either half a dozen topical fish or 2 goldfish.

| Cool Temp Companions For Paradise Fish?????? | 17 Oct 2003 06:19 GMT | 2 |
My child has a 20 gallon tank with 4 paradise fish (Macropodus opercularis). I think they're all female fish. My reason for choosing these fish is because we have had frequent power outages in our area and I wanted fish that could easily withstand 65 degree F. water if necessary. ...

| Feeding Figure-8 Puffers | 17 Oct 2003 02:39 GMT | 7 |
We picked up some puffers last week (same time as the "blue lobster" discussed in another thread) and I'm just doing some research on what to feed them. LFS guy said they'd be okay with flakes, but they seem profoundly disinterested.

| Home-made fish pooper-scooper | 16 Oct 2003 14:29 GMT | 2 |
I took a cheap turkey baster (like a giant eye-dropper about a foot long with a squeeze bulb at the end) and extended the tip with a short length of plastic tubing... long enough to reach my tank gravel while the bulb end stays high and dry out of the water.

My 10gal tank now has small ramshorn snails. Clown loaches control the snails in my other tanks but would be too large for this tank, esp I keep more than one. Any ideas? TIA
