guppy fry20 Oct 2003 20:21 GMT14
Can anyone tell me how to keep my fish away from my baby guppies?
I have the floating plants and stuff but there has got to be more to help..
Could I maybe get some women's tights from the local shops to maybe conceal
a part of the tank off??
Got my Guppies20 Oct 2003 04:06 GMT8
Got 2 male guppies and 3 females and the buggers are at it already ;-)
How many fry should I be expecting from 1 female does anyone know round
abouts?
I have pulled some of the plastic plants out to let them float which I hear
Fresh vs. Marine: Which one is more critical temp-wise?19 Oct 2003 08:34 GMT5
I plan to keep a freshwater and a marine tank in my apt.
The former will be heavily planted Discus/Cardinal/Ram
tank while the marine setup will likely consist of  live rock, low light
corals plus community fish (Cardinals & Damsels).
pregnant ghost shrimp...now what??19 Oct 2003 04:52 GMT6
Hi,  I just purchased a few Ghost shrimp and I noticed one of them has about
a dozen eggs inside of it.  Do I need to do anything special to preserve
them? I moved it to a tank that only has Ghost shrimp, and one Bamboo Shrimp
(injured in battle). Any help would be great!!!   TIA    ...
Sick Molly--Lip Problem--Need Advice18 Oct 2003 10:09 GMT2
Help needed please folks.  A beautiful white sailfin molly I bought three
days ago has developed a very sore lip.   Both my wife and I noticed that
her lip seemed large after the first day, but this morning I noticed it is
red and enlarged and has little stringy bits hanging off it. ...
Pleco the acrobat18 Oct 2003 01:28 GMT6
I wonder if anybody else observed this.  From time to time, but rerely I
see my pleco in the morning swimming upside down, towards the surface of
the water as if the surface was solid.  I also see him floating on the
surface motionless and he seems to be as if he is attached ...
Arrowana and pleco together?17 Oct 2003 16:13 GMT2
I've got an 18" common pleco in a 120 gal tank and am contemplating a tank
mate for him (her?). One of the fish we're considering is a silver (South
American) arrowana.
Any experience or thoughts on whether the two species are compatible?
Top Fin Aquascene 2 10 Gallon17 Oct 2003 15:39 GMT2
Anyone own this product?  It is suppose to be a 10 gallon acrylic tank
with a hood, an UGF and a air pump.  How well is it constructed?  Will
I be flooding my living room?
Also, I intend to keep either half a dozen topical fish or 2 goldfish.
Cool Temp Companions For Paradise Fish?????? 17 Oct 2003 06:19 GMT2
My child has a 20 gallon tank with 4 paradise fish (Macropodus opercularis).  I
think they're all female fish.  My reason for choosing these fish is because we
have had frequent power outages in our area and I wanted fish that could easily
withstand 65 degree F. water if necessary.  ...
Feeding Figure-8 Puffers17 Oct 2003 02:39 GMT7
We picked up some puffers last week (same time as the "blue lobster"
discussed in another thread) and I'm just doing some research on what
to feed them. LFS guy said they'd be okay with flakes, but they seem
profoundly disinterested.
substrate change 16 Oct 2003 16:55 GMT6
Is it possible to change from gravel to a finer substrate in an already
established aquarium? And how would i go about doing this?
Thanx Linda
Home-made fish pooper-scooper16 Oct 2003 14:29 GMT2
I took a cheap turkey baster (like a giant eye-dropper about a foot long
with a squeeze bulb at the end) and extended the tip with a short length of
plastic tubing... long enough to reach my tank gravel while the bulb end
stays high and dry out of the water.
black angels and malawis16 Oct 2003 13:03 GMT2
we are new, i am, to fish anyhow and i would like to know if its sensible to
mix a black angel and two malawis in the same tank. ive heard that angels
are cichlids and shoudl be fine, then i heard not. who do i trust and who is

Small Snail eaters16 Oct 2003 13:02 GMT9
My 10gal tank now has small ramshorn snails.  Clown loaches control the
snails in my other tanks but would be too large for this tank, esp I keep
more than one.  Any ideas?
TIA
