terra cotta pots with weird chemically odor?08 Oct 2003 02:34 GMT8
I recently bought some small 2in terra cotta pots from the local Hobby
Lobby. After soaking them I noticed they had a strong sort of chemical
odor, sorta like how the dry cleaners smell, I think. I don't know if
fragrance from the store got embedded in the pots, or if they ...

Just set up my very first tank, 45gl tropical freshwater. I am a complete
novice, I have the tank up for 3days now with a Fluval 304 some aeration and
1 beta, and a bunch of tiny little hardy fish according to the aquarium
staff where I got them from and I'm so new at this I don't ...
Tank aeration -- where from?07 Oct 2003 23:38 GMT4
Newbie Question:  Does aquarium aeraton come only from the rising STREAM of
bubbles from a pump's air stone, or from the ripple effect of those bubbles
agitating the water surface?

Water test, take water from top or bottom?07 Oct 2003 23:35 GMT2
When testing my freshwater tank for pH, ammonia, nitrates, and
nitrites does it matter what part of my tank the water sample comes
from?  Can I just scoop some water from the top of the tank or do I
need to siphon water from the bottom?
Strange Survival Rate, what gives?07 Oct 2003 23:16 GMT5
I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas on a problem I have. I
recently bought a pair of Apisto. cacatoides, a Borneo Sucker, and 2 Khuli
loaches, and put them in my tank with my 5 emerald corys and 2 baby
bristlenose cats. Everything seemd fine until the loaches went ...
Fry07 Oct 2003 19:08 GMT1
I recently received some angel and guppy fry.  The angels are the size
of a dime and the guppies are even smaller.  The angels are in my 55g
and seem to be doing fine.  They're eating and not being picked on.
The guppies are in their own little fish bowl (there are only 3 of
Male Dwarf Gourami fighting07 Oct 2003 17:35 GMT1
I have two male Dwarf Gouramis in a 20g community tank.  One Gourami seems
to be the dominant gourami  and continuously attacks the other gourami.  The
weaker gourami does not appear to be getting seriously hurt from the
attacks, but I would prefer to have a more peaceful community. ...

Turn $5k into $500k per year. I do All the Work !
Guess what, you don't have to sell anything.  I do all the work. You just
need to be able to check your E-mail daily at 12 noon EST.  Can you do that ?
If you can, I'll make $500,000.00 a year for you, minimum.

Changed 95% of the water, when is cycle complete?06 Oct 2003 10:23 GMT1
My 10 gallon tank is about 10 years old and my last batch of fish just
died off due to ick and some sort of bacterial infection.  The ick
developed after adding a few new fish.

Chocolate Cichlid05 Oct 2003 22:48 GMT4
Anybody out in the south eastern PA region interested in a medium
sized male chocolate cichlid, free of charge?  He has finally grown too
large for me, and I can't put in any fish in the 55g he's in because they
become lunch.  He's between 5"-6", color ranges from very light ...

Betta Help05 Oct 2003 17:19 GMT7
I have a betta at work.  Today I found him laying on the bottom of the
tank.  He attempts to swim and his head doesn't look like it's sitting
on his neck correct.  He'll usually swim with his head almost in line
with his spine.  Now it looks as though his head is at a 45 degree ...
