Where to find tank product reviews?30 Nov 2003 17:33 GMT3
I'm in the market for a new tank, and I'm not having luck finding places
discussing tank features/quality.
Know of a site?  Or have personal experience with a decent and affordable
brand?   ("Affordable" is something different to everyone, I guess, but for

Is there any treatment for Fish TB?29 Nov 2003 17:42 GMT2
Unfortunately I believe I have an ongoing outbreak of TB in my tank.
Over the last few months I have lost 2 Danios and today have
quarantined another with the same symptoms. It has a sunken belly and
it has the same spine twist I noticed on the others. It is eating
My fishes swim in acid29 Nov 2003 15:12 GMT1
They are alien fishes and water would be dangerous to them.
So they swim in pure sulphuric acid , great !

I'll soon have my RO set up in my fish room, and will soften my water in
the central system for my SA's and Discus.  I've got about a dozen
cardinals some of which I've had for about 2 years and they are quite nice,

Cleaning Vortex Diatom28 Nov 2003 00:13 GMT3
I just ran my new Vortex XL diatom for the first time today.  It works
fabulous.  My 90 gallon went from cloudy to crystal clear in less than one
hour.  I had a bloom of suspended green algae.  It looked a lot like a
bacterial bloom (more white than green).  The diatom filter bag ...

Hi, I'm new to this game so bear with me...
I have a 20 gal tank with 2 fantails & 1 black moor. I'm about to put an air
stone in the tank, but should I put it on top of the gravel or buried just
under it? Also should I put the airstone close to the filter or away from

Hello everyone, I have a question and was hoping for some help.
I have a powerhead that is beginning to fail, so when I started looking to
replace it I checked the powerhead itself first for some info as a starting
point. The sticker on it claims it is 1000/liters per hour, If my ...
Talk about bad luck, two leaks in two years27 Nov 2003 02:51 GMT1
2 years ago I bought a 150 gallon perfecto tank. One year after this
purchase, the tank sprung a leak. Lost 10+ gallons on the floor. Called
perfecto, they replaced it promptly, saying there was no problem. Got
another tank, and 6 months later another leak. This time 25+ gallons. ...

Better forget about the Blue Acara26 Nov 2003 03:18 GMT1
I'm afraid the Blue Acara is out. I read through the newsgroups, and
FishProfiles.Com seems to have it all wrong.
So, back to the drawing board. One of the advantages of a cycling tank
is it leaves you time to make decisions!
Newbie Q, help picking fish and other advice25 Nov 2003 23:09 GMT8
I'm setting up my first tank, and although I've read just about
everything I could find about setting up the tank, I'm not finding a
lot of information on what fish I should get.
I have a 55 gallon tank that was filled with tap water (well water)
Blue Acara (Fishprofiles.com)25 Nov 2003 21:26 GMT2
I've been putting some thought into some safe fish to buy for a
community tank, and I have my eyes set on a Blue Acara.
According to Fish Profiles (http://www.fishprofiles.com), it is a
peaceful fish, and does not have any known compatibility problems.
