As my fiancee puts it, my once beatiful tank has been turned into the
killing fields.
The pregnant guppy gave birth to about a dozen three headed larvae -
it was horrifying!

I caught half a dozen shrimps in a small tank.  They have managed to stay
alive for about six weeks now and I am getting quite fond of them - they are
quite fascinating.
I just throw in a concoction of stuff that I feed to my other fish and they

A day or so ago I read a post about someone with water restrictions, but I
can't find it now..  As a result they wanted to cut down from their weekly
10% water changes.
If anyone really wants to save water and want to put the time and effort

I have a new 30 gallon freshwater aquarium.  I've had it up and
running 3-4 weeks with live plants.  I have had no problems with the
fish but am having trouble keeping my plants alive and looking
healthy.  I'm using Florish Plant Supplement and have a 36", 30W light

First, the losses:
1 Yoyo Loach - no long MIA - DEAD.
1 Dwarf Gourami - DEAD
2 Serpae Tetras - DEAD

I used to have the following setup on my 150 gallon tank:
Eheim 2028 (rated for 150 gallon tank)
Emperor Penguin with biowheels
I got rid of the Emperor and got another Eheim 2026(rated for a 90 gallon

the move, and gave away all the plants and fish since we moved too far to

difference between tubeflex and blood worms? (I know I can buy them
frozen)

We have a 150 gallon tank, Aqua Clear 500 with an additional under gravel
filtration system, which uses 4 air pumps housed in the garage.
Okay, our pH is registering at 8.5.  It constantly drifts up.  We have  about 30

Since I had an empty tank, at my LFS I "rescued" some feeder guppies (only
10 cents each, and I'd never tried guppies before and so started on the
cheap).  A week later I noticed a few fry in the tank but fear for their
survival despite the clumps of homemade breeding grass I had ...

 My Pl*co is digging up the gravel down to the UGF and uprooting all the
(plastic) plants .  What's the problem and what can I do?

I've had about 8 smaller goldfish in a really big tank (250 litres)

When I do an ammonia test, I get almost an orange color. After a few
minutes, the orange particals start to percipitate and settle to the bottom
leaving a slight yellow tint to the water.  I have been adding a lot of
cycle and prime to water.  Could the test be reading a false high ...
