| Finally took the leap... | 09 Nov 2003 14:33 GMT | 3 |
So after months of sitting in the basement, my 75 gallon tank is finally going to come to use. I've got all the equipment ordered and should be setting everything up within a week or two. I only have a few questions, as I've been lurking for some time and have picked up a

| Platy Problem | 09 Nov 2003 08:15 GMT | 3 |
Hey all, So a while back(few months) I got a male and female platy. Well, the female died(long long cycling led to fungus etc). So after my tank had finished it's cycling, I bought a female platy to keep the company of this male

| Ph | 08 Nov 2003 21:12 GMT | 6 |
At what pH does the tank stop cycling? I am having a problem getting tank to cycle. It starts to cycle, then pH drops to 6.6 to 6.4 and ammonia builds again. I adjust the pH to 7 to 7.4 and more cycle, but ammonia level is still 6. Fish are doing fine except for pleco. He seems ...

| Sick fish, please help ! | 08 Nov 2003 14:14 GMT | 10 |
I have a beautiful 7 inch diameter discus which has been acting strangely lately. Most of the time it either lays on the bottom on its side or sits in a corner. About once an hour it dashes around the tank, usually in tight circles.

| Building a hood for a 55g tank | 08 Nov 2003 02:43 GMT | 1 |
I'm looking to build a hood for my 55g tank so that I can get some more light into it to grow some plants. My question is, what kind of finish should I use on it to match my tank? The tank has black trim, and it's on a black Walmart stand, which is suprisingly good looking.

| Why is my temperature so high? | 07 Nov 2003 22:47 GMT | 5 |
I've determined that my target temp for my Kuhli, Pleco, and ADF's should be 77-78f, but it's floating around 80-82, and I can't figure out why. There's no nearby heat source in the room, and in fact I've shut off the radiators in the room. There is a 75w heater in the 15g tank, ...

| New Betta won't eat? | 07 Nov 2003 22:45 GMT | 17 |
Following kind suggestions seen here, two days ago I put a solitary male Betta in a 2-gallon Eclipse Explorer tank (has a bio-wheel) and have been tempting him to eat with no observed success thus far. First I tried crushed Wardley shrimp pellets which sank to the bottom, but

| Floating Neon | 07 Nov 2003 16:09 GMT | 3 |
I have a Neon that seems to have a buoyancy problem - like it is always going to float to the surface unless it continually swims downward... sometimes, at the bottom of the tank, it has to go to grab food and it rises so quick you would think it was full of air. It appears happy ...

| tank-bred cardinal tetras | 07 Nov 2003 15:19 GMT | 2 |
Where might I find a source of tank-bred and raised cardinal or neon tetras? I am especially interested in cardinals. I do not like the wild-caught ones, for ethical reasons, and because the ones I have used have been really prone to disease.

| Crabs...social?? | 07 Nov 2003 13:58 GMT | 15 |
My local fishhouse is selling freshewater tropical crabs at the moment. They look very pretty and might add interest to this trop tank I hve inherited. The aquarium is in my wifes place of work, so is a display thing more than a personal interest one and these little red crabs ...
