Aquarium Building06 Nov 2003 16:31 GMT13
Tired of looking at multi-hundred dollar aquariums in stores, I've begun to
think about building my own. Is there a formula for determining the thickness
of the glass? What is the best method for framing odd shaped aquariums or any
aquarium for that matter. For the larger aquariums ...

Those four clown loaches looked so cute and lonesome there at the
store...
They're now aclimating into the Qtine tank. (Heaven help the small
snails that are in there now...)
Neons and Cardinals06 Nov 2003 15:19 GMT2
Anyone ever try mixing neons and cardinals? Thinking putting in 6 cardinals
with my 7 neons. I wonder if there is any agressive tendencies between the
two species...

I have a beta male for about 3 months now. He was very active. I have

Like a cook that can't boil water...05 Nov 2003 20:45 GMT7

but it's true.
For about a month now, I have been trying to convince the little
blighters to breed so I can feed them to my puffers before their teeth

Cories Flashing/Scratching, even tho treating05 Nov 2003 15:22 GMT1
Hi, I noticed my cories were flashing & scratching this past weekend, so I
started a treatment for parasites with a product called Maracide (contains
Aniline Green - synonym for Malachite Green).  The package says to treat for
5 days, but after 3 days of treatment, I have noticed ...
Unidentified disease/injury on Pristella maxillaris05 Nov 2003 05:58 GMT1
I have a Pristella maxillaris (X-ray tetra, red-tailed pristella) that has
something strange on his body in the caudal peduncle, just anterior of the
caudal fin. Where this part of the body is normally translucent, this fish's
caudal peduncle is filled with some kind of black tissue ...
Cleaning Beta Fish Bowl05 Nov 2003 04:05 GMT3
Hi All: My wife bought 2 new Beta Fish.  The Bowls are more like vases

get a net in there to remove the fish for cleaning and it has to be
done on two bowls. Are there any suggestions on how to make this

I think you guys have discussed this topic many times...but...I have
replaced my lamp light ("aquarium lamp") for an agro-lite lamp. According to
the info in the package has a 600 lumens output. THe light is quite
yelowish, and I am wondering if it is good for the plants. If I am ...
Removing carbon filter when medicating04 Nov 2003 14:31 GMT2
Almost every aquarium treatment and medicine clearly states that the
carbon filter should be removed before adding the medicine. However, I
have never come across any guidelines for how long it should be
removed for. It seems such an obvious question, but really I don't
how do you temperature match during winter months04 Nov 2003 00:32 GMT4
Don't know about you, but it is easy to temperature match new water in
the summer in Iowa.   How is at about same temp as I keep the tropical
tanks.   But now that cold weather has set in, the house can be 10-12
