Need advice on second filter03 Nov 2003 14:35 GMT8
I have a 4' tank with lots of plants and assorted community freshwater fish.
It has an eclipse-type filter built into the hood, which simply doesnt do
the job--the water is clear, but still has bits floating around in it.  Id
like to add an internal filter but am also planning on ...
Removing alagae "from tank"03 Nov 2003 09:28 GMT4
I have a 30g plywood tank; the plywood has been sealed with two coats of
two-part epoxy paint and thus is not smooth; my four Otos (nice fish!)
remove the algae from the glass perfectly but they leave the wooden
sides and back covered;

Air stone location and bubble size question02 Nov 2003 23:29 GMT3
I have a question regarding aeration, on a 45 gallon tank I have two flat
air stones, and for the sake of cosmetics I decided to hide them under the
gravel bed, behind some decorations. Now all if fine except that the air
bubbles since they have to merge between the gravel are much ...
Color of Aquarium Water after medicating02 Nov 2003 23:27 GMT3
I medicated my 29 gallon aquarium 7 days ago.  The instructions on the
medication container (TC=tetracycline I think) says water may become
discolored and foam may form on the water surface. My water is still
discolored and foam remains.  How long will this condition remain?   The
Gift ideas for fish keepers02 Nov 2003 21:11 GMT7
I know this is a little off topic so please bear with me.  With the
holidays quickly approaching I am always thinking of good gift ideas.  I
found some material last nite that makes beautiful, colourful throw
pillows with fish on them.  One yard will make either two pillows with
Swordtail update...02 Nov 2003 20:21 GMT1
I now have one catfish, probably a pl*co, (shop told me it was ancistrus,
but it doesn't have bristles on snout) two adult swordtails, uncounted
snails and just checked this morning and now have approx 10 - 20 swordtail
fry hiding in my "lobster pot" mock up (made from a lemonade ...

Of I almost forgot...

have it plugged into a timer that's plugged into a surge protector.
re: compatability os Dwarf Frog02 Nov 2003 06:20 GMT4
Do the reserch into the dwarf frogs: thay can get fairly big, even though
they are not as big as their non-dwarf relatives.  apparently the males
eventually get to the point where they call out, which can be fairly loud,
even under water.  My mom had one and it eventually got big ...
Are cory catfish sensitive to water changes?02 Nov 2003 01:18 GMT6
Over the past couple months, I've had problems with my cory catfish dying in
my 20 gallon community tank. I've had one peppered cory in there for
probably a half year now, and he always does fine. But a few months ago, I
bought another cory, he died about three weeks later. I ...
