I have a figure eight puffer fish and he is brill apart from he keeps biting
my plants. I thought is was snails at first but i have seen him a number of
times doing it.  He bites the leaves then spits it out.  He doesn't attack

1 - Heater that is linked to an thermometer adjustable from outside the
tank.
2 - Electronic PH tester
Any ideas where I might find these?

I have the fun sort of problem that's nice to have for an aquarium
hobbiest.  I'm on a "new fish" search.  My tank is nice and stable and
needs some new fish.  I've been putting it off because of Christmas

Help
One of my Guppies is bullying another one,the bullied one is now not eating
and just hangs around near the surface.Any advice would be appreciated.

I have always been confused with the following,
Alkalinity is equal to general hardness?  And to fish and plants how
important is general hardness?
When people talk about buffering capacity they are talking about dKH, right?

My local PetSmart is selling fish they're labeling as "male split tail
gouramis". They're selling them next to their male bettas, in the same
sort of cups.

My second Betta (5 weeks) will not eat Betta bites.
He completely ignored them for 3 weeks and I didn't offer anything else, (on
advice from the shop.)

 One of my bettas is having trouble flaring. He will lift his gill
flaps but only on one side does the extra protrusion(the bigger part
underneath) also extend. I keep him in a one gallon tank, and do 50%
water changes weekly. I have tested the water and there are no

Over the past week, I have set up a new 200L tank.
Everything in the new tank is new, except that I re-used my Eheim
cannister filter. Because of an algae problem in the previous aquarium,
I cleaned the filter with vineger, and it contents by leaving them in

i am new to the fish world.  i have a 20g tank that was built 12-24 and fist
were added 12-26.  4 tiger barbs and 4 of another fish i don't know the name
of.  looked like tiger barbs but were silver not orange.  after they were in
the tank for about 6 hrs all 4 of the silver looking ...
