I've read that the sex ratio of some fish is greatly influenced by water temperature. Is this true for sailfin mollies, and if so any advice much appreciated. (Google didnt help much)

unfortunately about a month age I had to move which resulted in total fish death :( , good news is that I setup again and all is fine with my new little community :) , fish are growing and health with lots of brilliant shades, doing the normal 10% water changes each week etc.. ...

I bought my first tropical fish tank setup yesterday....we are currently in the process of staining and lacquering the stand. The tank itself is a 20 gallon (???)....measuring 30inches long, 35cm wide and 45cm high (I think). It came with an undergravel filter, a heater.

When I vacuum my gravel for years I would get a fine brown material, for the past couple of months I am getting large pieces of white cottony like material and a lot of it..blobby like....It is clogging my filters and power heads...What would cause this and what is it?

I've talked to some other people about this and they have had the same happen. Originally it just affected my fancy guppies(I gave up on them, just have feeders in with the crayfish now, hard to tell if they experience the same problem as they are living up to the millions fish ...
