| Algae eater suggestions requested | 05 Dec 2003 15:59 GMT | 3 |
I've got an Eclipse 3 gallon tank, which has a small to medium sized Java Fern growing in it. The fern is doing reasonably well under the standard lighting for this tank, but it is developing a fair amount of unsightly algae on the older leaves.

Ok, so I'm trying to raise a few brine shrimp for my fish to munch down on, but it seems I'm incompetent. I've got an air stone in a glass vase filled with 750ML of water and 2 1/4 tsp non-iodized salt with just a touch of sodium bi-carb to nudge the PH just over middle. I've got a ...

| Airstone to big? | 04 Dec 2003 16:18 GMT | 7 |
I have a 10 gallon tank with 4 tetras and 1 cory. Unfortunately, I had a swordtail that died. Well, I went and got an air pump and airstone 6". It seems like a heck of a lot of bubbles. Is the stone too big? Thanks in advance.

I purchased a new Ebo Jager TS heater (250W, 105 gallon tank) - I've got the heater set to bring the tank to 79.5 degrees - I'm used to seeing heaters run (the red light stays on) until the tank is at the desired temp, then cycle on and off as necessary - this heater is cycling on ...

| Protein Skimmer Question | 04 Dec 2003 14:36 GMT | 1 |
I'm still new at aquatics and although I've been reading a great deal, and learning quite a bit, I have a million questions...like this one. I understand (basically) how a protein skimmer works. The bubbles coming up make contact with water coming down and carries proteins out into ...

| How many times should I wash out the tank before adding fish ? | 03 Dec 2003 14:49 GMT | 6 |
Well, after months of part-time work, my new fish tank is finally ready. I have just filled it up for the first time to check all was well. I have built a fake rock background from painted polystyrene covered with epoxy and was thinking that I ought to fill up the tank and empty
