I've had my aquarium set up now for about 6 months. I now notice that the
plastic logs are now losing their 'natural' colouring, it seems as if the
fish are somehow wearing it away. When I spoke to my LFS about this I was
told that this is quite normal!

While setting up a new tank I found a packet of water conditioner in my
spare parts box. I got it free when I bought my first tank two years ago. Is
it still good? I assume so. But the main question: What chemicals are in it?
