I've been posting for awhile, my 55G tank has been having issues that
I haven't been able to resolve. For all my reading, it looks like I've
done everything right, but today, I find myself fishless.
Well, that's not entirely true. I had taken my betta out of the 55G

my burgundy sea star literally fell apart.  Three of the four arms fell of.
There is nothing in the tank that is large enough to do this to it.  Is this
common?  Is it just shedding or something?

How many barbs like tiger, green, rosy, gold - can go in a 20 gallon tank??
How big do they get? I want to set up tank just for Barbs.

Hi all. I have two tanks, a 20 gallon and a 29 galoon. when the 20
gallon was cycling i was told not to do a water change for the first
month, the tank has been up and running for about 7 months. I
purchased the 29 gallon tank on Nov. 30 and havent done a water change

As my title states, I'm out of ideas.
What started out as ich, turned into fin rot, what turned into fin rot
has turned into eye cloud, what turned into eye cloud is probably
going to end up in the toilet.

I was out in the desert recently and found an interesting looking bone
(looks like a pelvis of a small animal).  Will a bone be ok to add to
an aquarium?  Do I need to worry about it leaching minerals or other
things into the water?  If so, is there anything I can do to prepare

We have a (generally) peaceful community tank, 48"x12"x15" housing two
golden gouramis, four tiger barbs, three sailfin catfish, eight
harlequins and three glowlight tetras. Water quality is good, water is
soft and pH about 6.5-7.0

My best friends loved watching my snail motor about and have agreed to
a "Christmas Snail" :)  I am setting up one Mystery Snail and a Ghost
Shrimp in a 2 gallon tank for them. Question is...how often would a

Just finished setting up a new 120L tank (Never had fish before).
I've followed the instructions from several books on how to setup, etc. I'm
at the stage were the tank is full, everything running but no fish (another
3 weeks or so... YAWN)

First question, How would the fish react to having a mirrored
background? I checked with the local hardware store and found out I
can get a mirror cut to the exact size of the tank for around $60, I
think that's a pretty good deal, just wondered how the fish would get

I am making plans for building a 405g plywood and acrylic aquarium.  What
have others used for inside paint?  Marine Epoxy all has a high
(anti-fowling) Copper Content.  Can you recommend a manufacture and paint
name?
